Technical Writer & Multimedia Content Developer (Remote)

Technical Writer \& Multimedia Content Developer \| Remote Tychon is seeking an experienced Technical Writer \& Multimedia Content Developer to create high\-quality technical, training, and multimedia content that helps customers understand, deploy, use, and get maximum value from our technology. This is a hands\-on content development role that combines technical writing, product documentation, instructional content, video production, and visual communication. The successful candidate must be able to learn a complex software product, work effectively with technical subject matter experts, and translate technical concepts and product capabilities into clear, accurate, and professional content for a variety of audiences. A significant part of this position will involve creating product demonstrations, tutorials, and training videos. We are looking for someone who can independently take a multimedia project from concept through final production—including planning, scripting, screen recording, voiceover/audio, editing, captions, callouts, graphics, and other visual elements. Just as importantly, this person must be curious and technically capable enough to develop a strong working knowledge of the product. The goal is not simply to document information provided by others, but to become sufficiently knowledgeable to identify what customers need to know, ask the right questions, and independently develop useful and technically accurate content. What You Will DoTechnical Documentation Develop, maintain, and continuously improve customer\-facing and internal technical documentation. Create installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, and product\-use guides. Develop release notes and supporting content for software releases. Create standard operating procedures, policies, compliance documentation, and other technical materials. Organize complex technical information into content that is easy to navigate, understand, and use. Work directly with engineers and technical subject matter experts to research, validate, and maintain accurate content. Training \& Multimedia Content Create professional product demonstrations, walkthroughs, tutorials, and training videos. Independently manage video projects from concept and planning through final production. Develop scripts, outlines, and storyboards appropriate to the content and audience. Record software demonstrations and screen\-based tutorials. Record and edit voiceover/audio or effectively use appropriate AI\-assisted voice technologies. Edit video and incorporate captions, callouts, graphics, transitions, annotations, and basic animation. Develop supporting training presentations, reference guides, job aids, and other instructional materials. Create diagrams, graphics, workflows, and technical illustrations that make complex concepts easier to understand. Content Publishing \& Business Support Maintain and publish content through WordPress and other content\-management platforms. Support customer portal content and software\-release publishing. Edit, format, and improve technical and business proposals. Support marketing, sales\-enablement, and digital\-content initiatives as needed. Maintain consistency in terminology, presentation, branding, and quality across content. Use modern AI\-assisted writing, video, voice, graphics, and content\-development tools to improve the quality and efficiency of content production. What We Are Looking ForTechnical Writing \& Product Knowledge Excellent technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and useful content. Ability to adjust content for technical, operational, executive, and non\-technical audiences. Strong ability and willingness to independently learn complex software products and technologies. Ability to work with system engineers and subject matter experts to gather, understand, challenge, and validate technical information. Ability to take ownership of content rather than relying on subject matter experts to define or write it. Video \& Multimedia Production Strong video production and editing skills. Demonstrated ability to independently produce polished, professional video content from concept through final delivery. Experience creating software product demonstrations, walkthroughs, how\-to tutorials, or technical training videos. Strong screen\-recording and software\-demonstration skills. Experience developing scripts and storyboards. Experience editing video and audio, including voiceovers, captions, callouts, transitions, graphics, and basic animation. Proficiency with one or more professional multimedia\-production platforms such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Descript, or comparable tools. Professional Skills Strong Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills. Experience with WordPress or another content management system. Strong visual communication and document\-formatting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong organization, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Ability to work independently in a remote environment and take ownership of assigned work from concept through completion. Comfortable receiving feedback, iterating quickly, and maintaining high standards for finished content. Preferred Qualifications Experience creating documentation or training content for enterprise software, information technology, cybersecurity, endpoint management, or other complex technical products. Experience developing technical training or e\-learning content. Experience with advanced motion graphics or animation. Experience with AI\-assisted writing, voiceover, avatar, transcription, video, graphics, or multimedia\-production tools. Experience developing marketing, digital, or sales\-enablement content. Familiarity with software development and release processes. Experience developing content for government, defense, cybersecurity, or other highly technical customer environments is a plus. Education \& Experience An Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Communications, Instructional Design, Multimedia/Digital Media, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered. 5\+ years of relevant professional experience in technical writing, technical content development, instructional content, multimedia production, or a related field. Portfolio or work samples demonstrating both technical writing and multimedia/video\-production capabilities strongly preferred. What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will become a knowledgeable content resource for Tychon's technology and will be able to independently transform product capabilities, technical information, and subject matter expertise into professional documentation, training, demonstrations, and multimedia content that customers can immediately understand and use.
