Location: Syracuse, NY Category: Faculty Job Type: Full\-time Posted On: Tue Aug 11 2026 Job Description: Title: Instructor Unit: Environmental Resources Engineering Professional Rank and Salary: $65,000 to $70,000 Location: Syracuse Job Summary The Environmental Resources Engineering (ERE) department at SUNY ESF offers course work centered around geospatial, environmental , and civil engineering. This position would develop curriculum for and teach several introductory level engineering science classes. In addition, the position would teach lab sections for established introductory and upper level laboratory classes related to physics, structures, hydraulics, surveying, and remote sensing. Main tasks would include: 1\. Teach introductory level engineering science courses, likely including courses in statics/mechanics of materials, engineering economics, and CAD. 2\. Teach lab sections in courses such as introductory physics, hydrology and hydraulics, surveying, and remote sensing. 3\. Assist in set\-up of labs and coordination of graduate teaching assistants. This individual will also provide academic advisement, supervise students and support student activities, and may assist with other courses as needed. Other responsibilities include participating in service at the College or Department, attending regular faculty meetings, supporting program assessment, and engaging in ongoing program and campus\-based planning and improvement. Job Requirements: Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in physical or natural sciences, engineering, science education, or similar degree programs. Two years of experience in a technical role entailing use of physics, engineering, environmental science, or geospatial science Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree (M.S., M.P.S., M. Ed.) Experience as an instructor, either in a classroom setting or in delivering workshops or training sessions Experience developing engineering science or physics curriculum, especially including hands\-on activities or hyflex delivery options Ability to learn software used within the ERE curriculum involving topics such as GIS, CAD, structural analysis, and hydraulic analysis Additional Information: About the College of Environmental Science and Forestry: The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry is located in Syracuse, New York, a dynamic and diverse community with plentiful natural, cultural, and civic opportunities.
