Month\-End Close: Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process, continuously identifying ways to streamline and shorten the close cycle. Compliance Management: Maintain strict adherence to Low\-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), HUD, and non\-profit regulatory agency financial guidelines. Audit \& Tax Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external CPA firms to coordinate year\-end audits and tax return preparation. Variance Analysis: Review actual financial performance against approved annual budgets monthly with department heads and portfolio managers, providing actionable commentary. Cash Management: Monitor property cash flows, replacement reserves, and intercompany advances. Process Improvement: Design and implement automated workflows within our property management software to increase data accuracy and efficiency. Cross\-Functional Collaboration: Partner with property management and asset management teams to resolve billing issues, reconcile tenant ledgers, and improve operational financial literacy. Defined Growth \& Promotion Track As you progress toward the Assistant Controller transition, your scope will expand to include: Full ownership over the most complex, multi\-tiered properties within the portfolio. Hands\-on training in Real Estate Development Accounting and capital tracking. Direct involvement in organizational Financial Planning \& Analysis (FP\&A), including annual budget formulation and cash forecasting. Qualifications \& Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required). Experience: 3–5 years of progressive corporate accounting experience (Required). Software: Proficiency in Yardi Voyager (Highly Preferred). Industry: Prior experience in Real Estate, Property Management, or Affordable Housing accounting (Preferred). Certification: CPA designation or active CPA candidate (Preferred).
