More about our team Join our team in a 39\-bed Medical Surgical unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). With a 1:6 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high\-quality patient care. How you'll contribute A Med/Surg CNA who excels in this role: Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation. Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly. What we're looking for Applicants should have a current listing as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services and a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Additional requirements include: Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS). Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Licenses: Current Listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property in a facility that provides Nursing Care. Education: High school diploma or equivalent Telemetry Tech ONLY: Completion of a basic telemetry monitoring course and/or completion of competency training for basic arrhythmia interpretation may be required as determined by the department director. * Unit Secretary ONLY: Completion of training in basic unit secretary tasks (i.e., transcription of physician order, computer data entry, etc).
