We seek a flexible and energetic school nurse who is student\-centered, parent\-friendly, and a team player. Our school nurses are responsible for the day\-to\-day health needs of our building. Responsibilities include daily health support, medication administration, creation and support of student health plans, regular communication with parents, and collaboration with staff.
Candidatesmust hold a RN license and hold, or be eligible for, aNH Nursing Certificate endorsement. Position isopen until filled.
This position is governed by theHEA Union Agreement.
Salary range for this position is $33,327 to $68,532,depending on education and experience.

General Purpose:
The school nurse supports student success by providing student\-centered health care through assessment, intervention, and follow\-up for all children within the school setting. The schoolnurse addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of students and supports their achievement in the learning process.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:
- Conduct Immunization surveillance on student health records as required by the State Of New Hampshire and Vermont.
- Responsible for implementing, monitoring and evaluating individual nursing care plans as needed.
- Administration of prescription medications including delegating and supervising medication administration when necessary.
- Participate in development of 504 medical plans and IEPs as needed.
- Obtain health history \& provide health assessment.
- Communicates health concerns to parents, school personnel and medical providers as needed.
- Screen and evaluate findings of deficits in vision, hearing, growth, etc.
- Observe the child for development and health patterns in making nursing assessment.
- Initiates referral to parents, school personnel or community health resources for intervention, remediation and follow through.
- Provide ongoing health counseling with students, parents, school personnel or health agencies.
- Utilize evidence based health resources to provide appropriate care of students.
- Plan and implement school health management protocols
- Develop procedures and provides for emergency nursing management for injuries/illnesses.
- Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases.
- Provide direct health education, and health counseling to students and families as needed.
- Serve as a resource person to the school staff members in health instruction, teaches Health curriculum as assigned.
- Coordinate school and community health activities and serves as a liaison health professional between the home, school and community.
- Engage in research and evaluation of school health services to act as a change agent for school
- Provides consultation in the formation of health policies, goals and objectives for the school district.
- May participate in home visits when indicated to assess the family needs as related to the childs health.
- Assist with the Medicaid claiming process.
- Perform other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
- Must comply with all SAU 70 District policies and building / department rules, procedures, practices and objectives.

- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Two to Four (2\-4\) years of relevant experience

- Applicable Educator License with School Nurse endorsement or Statement of Eligibility or Provisional License from VT AOE/NH DOE

- BLS Instructor Certification preferred
- Maintain a stationary position for up to three consecutive hours;
