If you are a Payroll professional looking for an exciting new role, Kinder Morgan has a fantastic opportunity for you! As a Payroll Processor reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing analytical and customer service support for various payroll initiatives, including wage garnishments. The person filling this role must be knowledgeable in payroll practices and regulations. You will be eligible for a hybrid schedule with Monday through Wednesday in Kinder Morgan’s downtown Houston office and Thursday and Friday being remote\-work days. Key Responsibilities

- Process multi\-state, bi\-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
- Administer payroll activities related to new hires, transfers, terminations, and pay rate changes
- Oversee and administer wage garnishments, including calculations, processing, and refunds
- Enter, verify, and maintain direct deposit information and federal, state, and local tax withholding elections
- Calculate and process manual checks for retro pay, missing time, additional earnings, and garnishment refunds
- Review and audit timesheets and payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Research and respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service to employees, HR partners, and managers via email and phone
- Assist with the development and maintenance of payroll process documentation
- Serve as a backup to other payroll team members as needed
- Participate in special projects and perform other payroll\-related duties as assigned
- Maintain a strong commitment to personal and workplace safety
- 3 years of experience processing payroll for a multi\-state employer with multiple locations
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
- Experience administering wage garnishments
- Experience processing payroll using an integrated HR/payroll system
- Experience with time and attendance systems
- Working knowledge of federal and state wage and tax laws, including overtime requirements
- Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and critical\-thinking skills
- High attention to detail and ability to resolve payroll discrepancies
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
- Ability to work independently within established processes and meet multiple deadlines
- Effective communication skills with employees, managers, vendors, and internal partners
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Associate degree
- Experience with Lawson Payroll Module
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Experience using ADP SmartCompliance
