The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of a project. The candidate will be familiar with our competitive advantages as an organization and will be able to communicate those to our benefit throughout the bidding process.
The Estimator will estimate material and labor costs for manufacturing projects in response to requests for proposals. Calculates costs based on analysis of project specifications, pricing schedules for labor and materials, and historical data. Analyzes postproduction costs and uses data to inform future project estimate.
Essential Responsibilities
- Understanding Solar Arclight’s products and offerings.
- Provide quality customer care with new and existing customer accounts.
- Determine all factors to produce a quote for customers. This includes considering factors such as cost of material, labor, tooling, and outside processing costs.
- Be able to read and understand blueprints, drawings, sketches, 3d models \& assemblies. Must be able to interpret customer instructions for each individual job.
- Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Once an estimate has been reached, write up professional estimates to send to customers.
- Establishes, maintains, processes, and/or updates files, records, and/or other documents.
- May perform specialized services of a routine clerical/administrative nature in strict accordance with established procedural guidelines, as appropriate to the position.
- Follow\-up with customer regarding bids/estimates.
- After estimate is accepted by customer, create a PO and contract for the job to move forward.
- May run various routine errands, as required, for the unit/department
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients to facilitate open communication, build rapport, and assist in garnering future business.
- Manager over other Build Estimators.
- Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process
- Ability to analyze information, provide plans and provide accurate estimates.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

- Excellent Architectural Drawing Interpretation Skills.
- Communication Proficiency (verbal and written).

- A self\-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience. Or at least 5 years of training, and relevant experience in these areas or in the skylight/roofing industry.
- Excellent computer skills and Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Ability to travel in state and out of state\- 5\-10%.
- Work location will be Remote or hybrid depending on your proximity to the office.

Pay: $80,000\.00 \- $95,000\.00 per year
