Position Summary
The Engineering Technology System Analyst plays a key role in delivering innovative technology insights and guidance to senior management, while offering technical expertise across the Solutions group and other units within the Engineering Department. This position collaborates closely with the Engineering Architectural \& Design Division, Technology, and Cybersecurity teams to assess, review, and test new software applications and cloud platforms, ensuring all hardware and software requests meet standards for functionality, compatibility, and security with the focus in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) sector.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Design \& Technical Support
- Administer and support engineering\-specific applications, systems, and platforms, including Bluebeam Revu, Bluebeam Org Admin Pro, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Leica Cyclone Enterprise, Base Map Management Service, NearMap, and Esri ArcGIS Pro.
- Coordinate software deployments, upgrades, version updates, and application feature customization for engineering users.
- Evaluate emerging engineering software, hardware, cloud platforms, CAD workstations, and AEC technology tools.
- Prepare technical analysis reports and recommendations for senior management regarding software, hardware, functionality, compatibility, and security.
- Troubleshoot application\-level issues and implement minor functional enhancements based on support tickets and user feedback.
- Maintain system documentation and ensure engineering technology tools are aligned with department standards and operational needs.
- Collaborate with Engineering Architectural \& Design, Technology, Cybersecurity, VDC, and other Engineering Department teams to review and assess technology requests.
- Participate in client, interdepartmental, and senior management meetings to gather requirements, share updates, and align technology initiatives.
- Support review and testing of new software applications and cloud platforms to confirm functionality, compatibility, and security.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to translate project objectives into actionable tasks, priorities, and implementation plans.
- Support Autodesk Construction Cloud project sites, data cloud storage processing, and engineering data workflows.
- Maintain consistency of system documentation, training materials, application records, and technology\-related reports.
- Support engineering software and cloud platform integration within the Engineering Department’s technology environment.
- Assist with Autodesk suite strategy, VDC workflow support, Autodesk Construction Cloud monitoring, and engineering data management.
- Support applications and infrastructure used by the Engineering Solutions HW/SW Support group, including more than 70 applications and 10 VM servers.
- Assist with engineering hardware and software inventory management, license utilization tracking, contract renewals, budget preparation, and monthly spending monitoring.
- Identify under\-utilized or redundant software licenses and provide usage reporting across applications managed by the Engineering Department.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five (5\) \+ years of industry experience in the AEC sector, specifically supporting AutoCAD and Revit projects, Navisworks Management, document management systems, and project information management.
- Five (5\)\+ years of engineering data management experience supporting engineering project data workflows and 3D scanned point cloud data storage systems.
- Five (5\)\+ years of experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Bluebeam Revu for PDF production workflows, document editing, markup, and collaboration.
- Experience administering, supporting, or coordinating engineering applications such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Bluebeam, Leica Cyclone Enterprise, NearMap, Esri ArcGIS Pro, and related platforms.
- Ability to generate detailed application usage and license utilization reports.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Technologies, including Azure Data Lake storage environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, time management, communication, analytical, and problem\-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and work with multiple stakeholders.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Power BI and data visualization tools is a plus.
- Experience supporting Autodesk Construction Cloud, e\-Builder, advanced CAD workstations, or similar engineering technology platforms.
- Experience working with Engineering, Technology, Cybersecurity, VDC, and senior management teams in a large infrastructure or public\-agency environment.
- Experience delivering staff training, onboarding support, workshops, or internal “Knowledge Bar” presentations.
- Strong understanding of AEC technology workflows, digital design tools, project information management, and engineering application roadmaps.
- Strong technical proficiency in engineering software systems, AEC applications, cloud platforms, and digital project delivery tools.
- Skilled in application administration, software deployment coordination, system support, and user troubleshooting.
- Strong documentation, technical writing, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Ability to evaluate software and hardware tools for functionality, compatibility, security, and operational value.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk tools, and related engineering platforms.
- Knowledge of Power BI, data visualization, Azure cloud technologies, and license utilization reporting preferred.
- Highly organized, detail\-oriented, self\-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative professional who can work effectively with senior management, technical teams, engineering staff, clients, and interdepartmental stakeholders.
- The good\-faith salary range for this position is $60\-$75/hr based on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, client requirements, and company policy.
- Candidates with greater depth of AEC technology, engineering software administration, cloud platform, data management, or application support experience may be considered at the higher end of the applicable range.
