Reports to: Crossing’s Site Manager
*Objective and Purpose*
The Crossings Assistant Site Manager plays a critical role in partnering with the Crossings Site Manager to oversee the day\-to\-day operations of running the site, which provides important health and safety services for the unsheltered who may otherwise be living outdoors. Work is often conducted outside and may be performed in severe weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
*Qualifications*
· Must have a current valid driver’s license and be insurable with our auto insurance provider, as driving our guests in a company vehicle or running errands for the site may be required.
· Based on business necessity and due to the nature of the population, we often serve individuals in active addiction, if you have a substance use disorder you must have 2 years clean since your last use. All employees of Rogue Retreat must be compliant with our drug and alcohol policy.
· You must be able to successfully complete a background check, UA and adhere to Rogue Retreat’s Drug \& Alcohol policy.
*Education and Experience*
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Some coursework in social services, or principles of Peer Support.
· 1\+ years’ experience as a volunteer and/or employee in a social service agency.
· 1\+ years in a position requiring management, coaching, or equivalent.
· 1\+ years’ experience requiring facility oversight, maintenance, and/or coordination.
· 1\+ years’ knowledge or prior experience of homelessness, mental health issues, and/or addiction issues.
· Completed Mental Health First Aid and Trauma Informed Care training or equivalent.
· Completed positive communication, crisis intervention, and/or de\-escalation techniques training.
· Thorough knowledge or prior experience of homelessness, mental health issues, addiction issues.
· Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google products and Service Point, OMC or other HMIS platform.
· Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with verbal or written information and data.
· Exhibit good written and verbal communications skills. Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred).
*Preferred Education and Experience*
· Associates Degree in Health and Human Services, Social Services, Psychology, or another related field of study.
· 3 years’ experience working with the homeless, and/or a mental health, and/or addiction services provider.

*Essential Functions*
· Assist with and oversee daily site operations.
· Responding to urgent situations when on shift or when the Crossings Site Manager is unavailable.
· Attending and co\-facilitating weekly staff and community meetings
· Daily incident report meetings are held each morning with Manager, Case Managers, PEER Support Specialists, and Facility Assistant.
· Assist the Shelter Site Manager with training shelter employees.
· Assist with and supervise shelter site operational employees.
· Assist with development of work schedules, assist with the approval of timesheets and time off requests.
· Ensure the shelter meets all health and safety standards and that the safety protocols are followed at all times.
· Oversee the enrollment and exiting of all guests, including all applicable paperwork and data requirements.
· Discuss any updates with PEERS and Case Managers as needed
· Discuss Guest needs and determine any exits or entries needed for the day
· Coverage of other positions as needed
· Continual updates to Crossings Site and Contract Entry/Exit spreadsheets
· Guest placement into tents and housing units based on a variety of individual factors.
· Update tent and housing unite assignments every evening
· Multiple checks of tents, general housing units, Outreach units, and outside premises including surrounding fences throughout the day
· De\-escalation of guest exhibiting disruptive behaviors
· Implementation of behavior contracts with Case Managers and guest
· In person or virtual attendance of required meetings
· Manager’s log documentation
· Law enforcement contact when needed
· Schedule on\-site service resources from local providers.
· Oversee inventory control and purchasing of shelter supplies.
· Be on\-call for all Shelter Site Emergency matters.
· Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
*Working Conditions/Equipment*
The physical environment requires the employee to work outside in various and often extreme weather conditions and inside in a temperature\-controlled environment that is, at times, noisy and chaotic with people exiting, entering, and talking in a congregant shelter setting that also produces frequent unexpected interruptions to work routines. The position utilizes computer and household kitchen items such as a microwave, blender, or utensils. May be requested to work overtime and weekends to cover absent employees or for special programs or events.
