Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, patient care, and medical administrative support, with experience across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to protocols.
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation, scheduling, and billing purposes.
- Perform basic diagnostic procedures such as X\-ray imaging or specimen collection when required.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient care activities across diverse specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Support physicians during procedures in surgical or emergency settings while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
- Manage administrative tasks such as ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to facilitate accurate billing and record\-keeping.
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant within clinical settings such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology relevant to various specialties including emergency medicine and geriatrics.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to X\-ray operation or medication administration are advantageous.
- Experience working with EHR systems for documentation and patient management is essential.
- Strong understanding of inpatient versus outpatient workflows along with familiarity with Level I or Level II trauma center protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care while supporting healthcare teams effectively.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast\-paced environments such as emergency departments or surgical units like ORs (Operating Rooms).
