The New Mexico Economic Development Department's (EDD) primary mission is to assist businesses that create job opportunities in New Mexico. Our objective is statewide employment and long\-term sustainable growth within New Mexico. Our services range from structuring business deals, offering and assisting with incentives, and providing programs for companies. The purpose of this position is to ensure the Deputy Cabinet Secretary and EDD team are supported in accomplishing this mission.

Why does the job exist?
This position provides high\-level administrative support for the Office of the Deputy Cabinet Secretary and serves as the initial point of contact to the public. This position provides high\-level administrative and financial support to the staff in the areas of office administration, procurement, and scheduling, as well as maintenance of records in accordance with all policies, rules and regulations.
How does it get done?
This position will:
1\) Provide administrative support to the Deputy Cabinet Secretary
2\) Manage schedules for the Deputy Cabinet Secretary and conference rooms, including both in\-person and virtual appointments and travel scheduling.
3\) Answer the agency's main phone line, professionally directing constituent calls and inquiries to the appropriate staff or agency, including sensitive or urgent matters.
4\) Maintain the agency's front office and conference rooms, serving as the primary point of contact for all public guests.
5\) Complete, process, and submit travel requests and travel reimbursements for the Deputy Cabinet Secretary, Office of the Secretary and others as needed.
6\) Maintain inventory, supplies, equipment, subscriptions, and related financial records
7\) Coordinate inter\-office administrative support with other agency staff, ensuring effective teamwork and seamless operations, and take on additional tasks as assigned by the Deputy or Cabinet Secretary.
8\.) Receive, dispatch, and track constituent service requests.

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2\) years work experience in office administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2\) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current drivers license.
May obtain and maintain a state of New Mexico defensive driving certificate.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage, sitting for long periods, bending, stooping to file and occasionally lifting a minimum of 25 pounds.
Possible exposures to irate clients/customers.
Incumbent may, at times, work under stress and frequent time constraints.
May occasionally require extra hours worked. Some statewide travel may be required.
