- Marking and labeling of all incoming accountable, sensitive, pilferable, high\-risk, and capital property, applying SLAC US Government Property labels per DEAR 970\.5245\-1(c).
- Serve as liaison to Shipping \& Receiving to ensure proper inspection, tagging, and database entry for all equipment regardless of delivery method (standard PO, Purchase Card, eShop/JIT, or direct field delivery).
- Oversee timely property record creation within 24 hours of receipt; resolve discrepancies between packing documentation and received goods.
- Coordinate receipt and field\-tagging, ensuring database accuracy without delay to program schedules.
- Annual wall\-to\-wall blind physical inventories of all property ¿ in accordance with DOE fiscal year cycles and 41 CFR 109\-1\.5110\.
- Assist all three phases of the inventory cycle: blind wall\-to\-wall count, recounting discrepancies and custodian reconciliation (email/photo documentation).
- Generate and distribute un\-located property reports to custodians; track responses and escalate unresolved discrepancies to the Property Control Lead and or Property Control Manager.
- Prepare Loss, Theft, Damage, and Destruction Reports (LTDDRs) for items not reconciled after Phase Two; coordinate with Custodians, supervisors, and the SSO for items requiring DOE notification within 5 working days.
- Participate as a core team member in annual walk\-through inspections with custodians and building managers; document findings and follow up on excess items identified during inspections.
- Maintain the authoritative property record for all accountable assets in PeopleSoft/PPMS, including purchase order number, asset type, description, serial number, acquisition cost, location, custodian, use status, and high\-risk designation, per 41 CFR 109\-1\.5108\.
- Process all custodian reassignments, location changes, and interdivisional transfers within 24 hours of notification; proactively audit records for accuracy between inventory cycles.
- Prepare ad hoc and scheduled property reports for department heads, the Accounting Office, the SSO, and DOE as required; support annual DOE inventory reporting.
- Ensure every item received is accompanied by a completed salvage form and assist custodians in completing forms on the spot when needed.
- Provide day\-to\-day guidance and on\-the\-job training to junior Property Control staff and new custodians.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource across the Laboratory for property accountability questions, resolving issues at the working level before escalation.
- Contribute to updates of Property Control procedures and the Personal Property Management Guide as regulations or contract requirements change.

- Associate's degree and four years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience in property management, inventory control, government asset management, supply chain, or a closely related field.
- Experience conducting physical inventories of large, complex asset populations and managing full reconciliation cycles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to produce, interpret, and reconcile detailed inventory reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and resolve complex accountability issues with sound judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with scientists, administrators, DOE representatives, and external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 70 lbs; willingness to work in office, warehouse, and active laboratory environments.

- Experience in a DOE national laboratory or federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) environment.
- Experience in business administration, supply chain, logistics, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with export control regulations (EAR, ITAR) and dual\-use/high\-risk property classification (INFCIRC/254 Parts 1 and 2\).
- knowledge of 41 CFR Parts 101, 102, and 109 and DOE Federal Property Management Regulations.
- Experience with hazardous materials handling, radiation safety protocols, or coordination with an ESH\&Q function.
- Certified Professional Property Manager (CPPM), Certified Professional Property Specialist (CPPS), or equivalent NPMA certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience managing property under federal government contracts, ideally DOE or another civilian agency (e.g., DOD, NASA, NSF).
- Proficiency with government property accounting systems; PeopleSoft experience highly desirable.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Non\-commercial Class driver's license.
- This position works across offices, warehouse, and active research laboratory environments at the SLAC campus in Menlo Park, CA. Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, crawling and climbing stairs are required during inventory campaigns, tagging and walk\-through inspections. The employee must be able to operate a pallet jack, or other material\-handling equipment and may coordinate movement of large or heavy assets. Some outdoor work on the SLAC campus is expected.
- Occasional access to radiologically or chemically controlled areas may be required; training on SLAC environmental, safety, health, and quality (ESH\&Q) requirements will be provided. Occasionally full PPE may be needed during peak inventory periods or tagging deadlines.

Position Overview:
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory¿s seeking a Senior Property Control Assistant to join our property control and operations Support team within our Property Control Department. Members of this team are responsible for identifying, tagging inventory and keeping records of SLAC and/or Stanford University owned equipment and materials in accordance with established policies and practices.
The Senior Property Control Assistant is an experienced, highly independent contributor within the Property Control Group, operating under the broad direction of the Property Control Manager and Property Control Lead. This role serves as a working\-level expert on SLAC's government property management program and leads day\-to\-day execution of property lifecycle activities ¿ from acquisition tagging through final disposition ¿ in full compliance with DOE Contract DE\-AC02\-76SFO0515, 41 CFR Parts 101, 102, and 109, and SLAC's Personal Property Management Guide (effective June 2025\).
At the senior level, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of property control operations and logistics support under general supervision and exercises independent judgment in resolving complex property accountability issues. The Senior Property Control Assistant bears direct responsibility for data integrity within the PeopleSoft/PPMS inventory system, supports annual physical inventory campaigns, and coordinates cross\-functional reviews involving Salvage and Shipping \& Receiving.

The expected pay range for this position is $39\.32 (Step 1\) \- $47\.47 (Step 10\) per hour. Placement in the range is subject to the applicable Collective Bargaining Unit. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
