Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail\-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper that is proficient with both Peachtree and QuickBooks. We are 35 year old small comany located in Inver Grove Heights that is intentionally downsizing, so volume of transactions will be reduced down to 5\-10 invoices and purchase orders per week, maybe less. our long term bookkeeper is retiring but will assist during the training period, ss needed. Total book keeping functions are estimated to be 10 hrs/week moving forward.
This job involves managing comprehensive bookkeeping functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
We are offering this position as either part time or contract hrs/week. This a perfect position for a semi\-retired bookkeeper working from home. This job is mostly available remote, but occaisional in office meetings may be necessary.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using software such as Peachtree and QuickBooks.
- Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards when applicable.
- Oversee payroll management using QuickBooks.
- Conduct detailed account analysis, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain precise records for audit readiness; support external audits as needed.
- Assist with budgeting, preliminary tax preparation and handed off to our CPA for completion.
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar role within corporate accounting environments.
- Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, Sage (Peachtree)
- Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping and balance sheet management.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts such as debits \& credits, account analysis, budgeting and credit analysis.
- Ability to perform data entry efficiently with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills; familiarity with payroll management systems is preferred.
- Strong math skills combined with analytical thinking.
