PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 IT Intern for the IT Utility Operations Technology team

This job involves working as an intern supporting the Asset Health Planning team responsible for maintaining asset health data in databases and data lake. The Intern will utilize a broad knowledge of information technology and engineering practices acquired through pervious coursework and on the job training.

This position will be Hybrid FixedJob Responsibilities

Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:

  • Assist in developing Python scripts for data processing, curation, and analysis.
  • Knowledge in AWS Lambda, Redshift and Athena.
  • Help support the team with AWS data buckets in S3\.
  • Collaborate with the team to manage, query and analyze large datasets using SQL database.
  • Troubleshoot basic data issues and help maintain data quality.
  • Document processes and maintain project documentation.
  • Job Specific Qualifications

    Required education/skills: The successful Incumbent(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or Information Technology and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029\. Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post\-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026\. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Incumbents must have completed freshman level course work for consideration.

    Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.

    Preferred:

  • Maintain 3\.0 GPA or above
  • Majoring in Engineering (Any Discipline), IT (Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems).
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Python language and SQL.
  • Knowledge in AWS.
  • Experience with any of the following program, Microsoft Office, Visio.
  • Optional but preferred: PowerBI or data visualization tools.
  • Self\-starter with the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Incumbents are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
