- Serve as the initial point of contact for the Registrar's Office, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and greeting visitors.
- Resolve routine problems and respond to inquiries concerning the activities and operations of the Registrar's Office.
- Route inquiries to another appropriate office when necessary.
- Use the student information system to input and retrieve data, ensuring accuracy, consistency and FERPA compliance.
- Assist with the entry, distribution, and filing of official documents, including withdrawals, transcripts, enrollment verifications, petitions, graduation applications, and immunizations.
- Process student add/drop and registration requests.
- Process routine updates to student records, including name or address changes.
- Scan, index, and archive documents using the office's document management system.
- Maintain status as a notary public.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for students, advisors, staff, and faculty who contact the Registrar's Office.
- Participate in and promote customer service initiatives and efforts within the department.
- Provide superior customer service to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public, while ensuring compliance with policy.
- Assist in\-person visitors, answer phones, and respond promptly to direct and office email inquiries.
- Manage confidential communications and records in accordance with federal, state, system, and University policies.
- Support the University mission, strategic plan, and division and department goals.
- Promote effective communication and positive relationships with all members of the University community.
- In consultation with other staff members, hire, train, and evaluate student employees.
- Supervise student employees' daily work, including accurate time entry, time on task, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Approve student timecards.
- Order and maintain inventory of office supplies and equipment, ensuring the office is fully stocked and operational.
- Enter purchase orders and requisitions for the office and commencement accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile the office budget.

Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant I provides front\-line customer service for the students, alumni, faculty, staff and administration at Georgia College \& State University and performs a variety of administrative and staff support duties for the Registrar's Office. This is a twelve\-month, full\-time, on\-campus position. This position reports to the University Registrar.

Proposed Salary
This position is a pay grade 5\. The available salary range is $30,828\.00 to $35,828\.00 . Starting salary within this range is based on relevant years of experience.
