Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail\-oriented Phlebotomist/Admin Assistant to join our healthcare team. This dual\-role position involves performing blood collection and specimen processing, as well as providing administrative support within a clinical laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, excellent patient service abilities, and a professional demeanor to ensure accurate testing and compassionate patient interactions.
Duties
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, ensuring proper specimen collection and labeling
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, test orders, and specimen tracking
- Assist with patient care activities, including taking vital signs and providing clear instructions for specimen collection
- Ensure aseptic technique is followed during all procedures to prevent contamination or infection
- Support laboratory operations by organizing supplies, managing specimen storage, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort during blood draws
- Perform routine laboratory procedures utilizing knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, data entry, and filing documents
- Proven experience in phlebotomy or clinical laboratory settings with knowledge of venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures, including aseptic technique and anatomy knowledge
- Familiarity with hospital or healthcare environment standards and patient care protocols
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient service
- Ability to accurately perform vital signs measurement and understand medical terminology
- Prior experience with laboratory procedures such as blood sampling, specimen handling, and processing preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification or training in phlebotomy is highly desirable but not mandatory for entry\-level candidates
