Web Administrator I – What This Role Is About
As a Web Administrator at AVB, you’ll wear a lot of hats. You’ll help configure, maintain, and support e‑commerce websites for our growing member base. Some days you’ll be launching brand‑new sites, other days you’ll be troubleshooting issues, supporting internal teams, or helping members keep things running smoothly.
For new members, you’ll handle full site setup—from DNS and Magento configuration to payment gateways, shipping, store views, and NGINX files. You may also apply bilingual language settings when needed.
For existing members, you’ll provide hands‑on technical support, manage incoming requests through Jira, and work closely with our development team to get issues resolved.
This is an independent role, but you won’t be working alone. We collaborate a lot, ask questions freely, and expect you to learn as you go.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage the Jira development service desk:
- + Review and prioritize incoming tickets
- Set up and configure websites for new members:
- + Update DNS records
- Support existing member websites:
- + Troubleshoot technical issues
- Assist with front‑end updates and fixes:
- + Update banners and page content
- Help make sure websites follow accessibility, usability, and brand standards
- Work with clients and third‑party vendors on integrations and site\-related needs
- Perform similar support and configuration work for AVB’s proprietary applications, including:
- + Catalog management
- Maintain documentation and help improve internal processes
- Someone who is self‑motivated, organized, and able to handle shifting priorities and timelines
- A strong problem solver who enjoys digging into technical issues
- Clear and friendly communicator with solid customer service skills
- Comfortable managing tasks with minimal supervision
- Open to learning new tools and technologies as the role evolves
- Hands‑on experience with e‑commerce platforms and payment gateway configurations
- + Magento is preferred, but Shopify, BigCommerce, or similar platforms are acceptable
- Working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
- Experience using GitHub
- DNS experience is required
- Experience with SSL certificates and NGINX is a plus
- Familiarity with JavaScript, PHP, and web APIs is a bonus
- Understanding of web accessibility concepts
- Experience working with marketing or creative teams
- Ability to stay current with web and e‑commerce best practices
- High school diploma, technical training, or equivalent hands‑on experience
- 1\+ year of experience in a similar role performing comparable tasks
- At least 1 year of HTML and CSS experience
- Experience with CMS platforms (Magento preferred)
- Experience using ticketing or project management tools
- Jira experience is a strong plus
