Patient Services Representative – Cardiology Scheduling

As a Cardiology Scheduling PSR, you own the follow\-up process end\-to\-end. You’ll work from structured task lists to ensure patients receive the care their doctors have ordered, all while maintaining a steady, manageable workflow.
The Details
* Pay: $18\.00–$20\.00/hr
* Location: Columbia, MD (Hybrid: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
* Schedule: Full\-time, Monday–Friday (Standard business hours)
* Environment: Administrative office; no in\-person patient interaction, no front desk, no copay collection.
Your Daily Impact
You are the engine that keeps our cardiology clinic running smoothly. By managing the provider\-ordered task lists, you ensure no patient falls through the cracks.
* Follow\-Up Scheduling: Handle cardiology follow\-up visits only (no complex new patient intake or testing coordination).
* Revenue Cycle Support: Verify insurance eligibility and ensure all necessary referrals are in place before the appointment.
* Admin Coordination: Support prior authorizations, manage message pools, and handle patient communications (letters/summaries) via fax and mail.
* Schedule Optimization: Proactively fill cancelled slots and manage reminders to minimize no\-shows.
What You Bring to the Table
The Must\-Haves:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong working knowledge of insurance eligibility and referrals.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
- A preference for structured, task\-driven work where you can focus on one priority at a time.
- Experience in Cardiology or other high\-volume specialties (Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Radiology).
- Direct experience with the prior authorization process.
