Blue Sky Innovative Solutions is seeking a qualified full\-time temporary Administrative Assistant II for a new opportunity to support our government customer.
LOCATION: Largo, MD (Fully in the office) THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
POSITION DESCRIPTION – The Administrative Assistant II provides ongoing support for County Government client.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Composes, or transcribes (from machine or rough draft), formats, types, and proofreads correspondence, memorandums and reports involving technical or medical terminology utilizing appropriate computer and software equipment for the review and signature of the Program Chief. Some of the materials typed include highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Receives screens and prioritizes telephone calls regarding programming matters. Evaluates citizens’ inquiries to determine the proper source of resolution and refers the citizen to that source. Take messages and ensure that Program Chief and supervisors are kept apprised of urgent matters.
- Receives, organizes, prioritizes, and distributes incoming correspondence to Program Chief and staff.
- Ensures maintenance of appropriate files and systems for administrative documents and assures ready access to information and materials. Data Entry/Reporting.
- Enters all animal exposure reports in an electronic system daily to record disease morbidity. Forwards all out of jurisdiction reports to the correct county.
- Assists with entering communicable disease reports in an electronic system as needed.
- Data Management
- Assists chief and Supervisor of EPI activities with data management for Communicable Diseases.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience as a administrative assistant
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to effectively multi\-task, manage time\-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast\-paced environment.

HOURS OF OPERATION
The worksite location will be performed predominantly at the Government offices during core business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday on a regular 40 hour per week schedule unless otherwise required by the Manager.

Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
