Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and manage patient check\-in and check\-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate follow\-up visits, and manage multi\-line phone systems with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette
- Assist dentists during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and providing necessary supplies in accordance with dental terminology and safety protocols
- Perform administrative tasks including filing medical records, updating patient information, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and managing medical billing using Meditech or Athenahealth platforms
- Verify insurance benefits, process claims, handle collections related to medical and dental services, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Maintain accurate documentation review of care plans, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding such as ICD\-10/ICD\-9 for billing purposes
- Support office management activities including inventory control, filing systems, data entry with 10 key typing skills, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems) like eClinicalWorks or Meditech
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and medical coding enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Proven background in medical administrative support or office management within healthcare settings is advantageous
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft), and health information management software such as Athenahealth or Hospital experience is desirable
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Demonstrated customer service excellence combined with clerical experience in a fast\-paced environment ensures smooth front desk operations
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes, Medicare procedures, ICD coding standards (ICD\-10/ICD\-9\), CPT coding practices, and medical billing procedures will set you apart
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
