ROLE
We are seeking a Legal Office Assistant to support the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio (USAO SDOH). In this role, you will provide administrative and logistical support for the USAO’s fact witness management process, helping coordinate witness\-related activities and support services tied to court and grand jury proceedings.

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Witness Support:
- Receive visitors and respond to fact witness questions about appearances, travel, and reimbursement
- Contact fact witnesses to confirm appearance details, explain travel arrangements, and identify support needs
- Notify the Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) of special circumstances or witness needs that require attention
- Meet fact witnesses upon arrival, provide courtroom orientation, and accompany them to court
- Gather and organize the information and documentation needed to arrange witness travel, lodging, and reimbursement
- Coordinate witness travel and lodging in accordance with DOJ and USAO procedures
- Prepare special authorization documents and obtain approvals before arranging travel
- Collect required forms, signatures, and supporting documentation for witness reimbursement
- Prepare and submit witness vouchers and reimbursement documents, and provide status updates as requested
- Gather supporting documentation and reconcile Government Travel Accounts related to witness travel activity
- Coordinate with court staff and partner agencies to support witness appearances and logistics
- Prepare routine correspondence and standard witness support documents using required formats and procedures
- Maintain witness files, records, databases, calendars, and tracking tools
- Organize and retain witness\-related documents in accordance with Department of Justice procedures
- Provide administrative and logistical support for witness coordination activities as assigned
- Ability to review information carefully and catch errors or missing details
- Ability to organize and maintain case or project files
- Ability to track case or file activity and answer routine status questions
- Ability to coordinate with other agencies or organizations to gather needed information
- Ability to handle administrative support tasks in a fast\-paced office setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy
- Comfort with word processing, data entry, and database work
- 3 Years of relevant experience
- Experience preparing reports, correspondence, and other office documents
- High school diploma required
- Undergraduate degree preferred

- 40 hours; 8 hours a day; 5 days a week

- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time.
