What You Will Be Doing
The Assistant to the Director, Community Services, provides high\-level executive and administrative support to the Director, including preparing agenda items, staff reports, and official correspondence for City Council, boards, and commissions. The role also supports boards and commissions by coordinating agenda development, managing meeting logistics, recording minutes, and maintaining clear communication with members.
In addition, this role is responsible for coordinating and leading special projects, strategic priorities, and departmental initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals and timelines. The position facilitates cross\-departmental workflows and oversees key administrative functions such as document management, contract tracking, renewal notifications, and operational calendar coordination. A strong focus is placed on performance management and quality assurance through the review and proofreading of reports, presentations, and public\-facing materials to ensure accuracy and adherence to City standards. The role also supports effective communication across the department and with external partners, while assisting with budget preparation, expenditure tracking, procurement activities, and overall financial stewardship.

- Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four (4\) years of college, resulting in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Over two (2\) years and up to five (5\) years of relevant experience
- Proficient knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office products.
- Must be able to report to work in person; this is not a remote position
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for City Council, Boards \& Commission meetings, and community events.
