- Assist Division Manager in development and management of programs to include organizational meetings, rule changes and schedules.
- Plans, prepares and implements job tasks approved by Division Manager.
- Interprets policies and procedures for staff. Screens applicants, interviews, and recommends new hires, promotions, raises and other personnel needs.
- Prepares, approves, updates, handles and submits, as needed, personnel discipline, personnel records, and payroll information.
- Meets with contractors and oversees their performance on maintenance work.
- Develops budgetary, management and personnel requirements and practices of the division.
- Prepares and maintains reports and records including work schedules, work orders, supply requests, equipment requests, and inventory. Maintains operation and expense records of equipment.
- Responsible for purchasing, maintaining, and tracking division equipment and inventory.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing the staff and activities of the Buildings Maintenance Division.
- Supervises, coordinate interviews, selects, trains and evaluates staff for division and /or effectively recommends such actions for assigned staff.
- Resolve any division issues and ensure that all escalated issues are closed.
- Identify areas of improvements and develop action plans.
- Attend meetings and hearings as a technical/and or management advisor or participant.
- Prepares detailed reports and presentations for the development of short and long term plans for the division.
- Responsible for the monitoring progress and reporting to management the status on renovation projects for the division.
- Maintain an effective liaison with City of Shreveport departments, Inter\-governmental agencies, private groups and enterprise.

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent years of experience.
- Ten (10\) years of progressively more responsible experience in supervising and coordinating the activities of Buildings Maintenance, or supervision over Maintenance Technicians responsible for maintaining, replacing and repairing machinery, equipment, and buildings. Two (2\) of the ten (10\) years must have included administrative, management, and supervisory experience.
- Hold a current and valid driver's license.
- Hold, or be able to obtain such licenses and certificates as may be required by the Federal, State and City Government.
- May be exposed to insects, dirt, dust, construction debris, and rough and uneven terrain.
- May work in extreme weather and temperatures
- May work at heights, in confined spaces, remote locations, or in noisy work areas.
- Will be required to wear safety protective gear when necessary.
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment.
- Requires constant use of both hands in reaching, handling, grasping, fingering while performing duties and operating computers.
- Occasional heavy work includes lifting, carrying, or moving up to 50 pounds. Occasionally ascends/descends stairs and other inclines while maintaining balance. Occasional bending, twisting, at knees, waist and neck.
- Constant use of all senses, including feeling, talking, hearing, seeing while performing duties and communicating with co\-workers, general public, and completing all tasks as assigned.

Reports to the Division Manager of SPAR Buildings Maintenance. Serves as lead of a major division of Buildings Maintenance and/or as a principal assistant to the Division Manager. Assist with the implementing, administering and coordinating approval of policies and programs for the division. Meets as necessary with governmental and civic agencies, groups, representatives and individuals to carry out business on the behalf of the government. Develops and recommends new programs, procedures, budget estimates, and best practices designed to improve public service and reduce costs. Reviews and drafts letters, memorandum, proposed ordinances, and resolutions, news releases, and other correspondence.
