Position Summary

The Accounting Assistant is an integral member of the Metrolina Greenhouses accounting team, supporting daily financial operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and administrative functions. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external customers to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Print and distribute invoices for internal approval
  • File and maintain accounts payable invoices and payment records
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable, including 2\-way match voucher processing
  • Assist with Concur administration, including expense reporting support
  • Provide front desk coverage as needed
  • Perform accounts receivable functions, including manual check cash application
  • Process and manage customer accounts receivable accounts
  • Generate and send customer statements
  • Handle invoicing for miscellaneous requests
  • Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues and discrepancies
  • Complete credit applications and provide tax exemption documentation as required
  • Support general office and administrative duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast\-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly
  • Word and Excel

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and recordkeeping
  • Experience working with Windows\-based computer systems
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with
Sage X3 ERP or similar accounting systems

Job Setting \& Physical Demands (This will change depending on whether it is an indoor position, outdoor position, in the greenhouse, etc.)

Employees in this position work primarily indoors but may be required to ambulate between locations within a large outdoor environment. The role is largely sedentary, however some administrative duties such as filing are quired. This would require the ability to lift files, open cabinets, bend or stand as necessary. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment such as phones, copiers, fax machines, etc. Fluency in the English language and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The ability to travel by all means of transportation and to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business needs is required.
