Director of Admissions and Guidance210 Day starting July 1, 2026 Overview: Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton, Massachusetts, is a vibrant public institution serving over 900 high school students and postsecondary learners. Students graduate with both a high school diploma and a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in one of 17 career and technical education programs, preparing them for college, careers, and beyond. Rooted in a student\-centered culture, Blue Hills is proud of its commitment to open access, equity, and excellence, celebrating cultural and ethnic diversity while fostering academic achievement and career readiness.The Director of Admissions and Guidance will serve as a strategic and student\-focused leader, responsible for high\-quality admissions, enrollment management and guidance programming. This role is essential to the continued growth and success of both the high school and district.

.Compensation: Starting salary range is between $135,000\.00 to $154,480\.90 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health and dental insurance, paid holidays and retirement. This position follows the school\-year calendar and does not require work during scheduled school vacation weeks, but is expected to work 2\-3 days each week during the summer. Responsibilities and Duties: Admissions \& Enrollment Leadership\-Update and implement admissions policies, procedures, and weighting requirements; review with Superintendent\-Director.\-Manage all aspects of high school from inquiry, registration through acceptance.

  • Ensure a smooth, transparent and equitable admissions review and selection process. Recruitment \& Outreach\-Plan and lead admissions events (Open Houses, Showcase, assemblies, new student acceptance reception, placement testing, live lottery, guidance counselors breakfast, trainings, etc.).\-Develop and deliver presentations to small and large audiences, including families, partner districts and community groups \-Build strong relationships with sending school districts, families, and community stakeholders to promote access and opportunity\-Market academic and career technical programs to encourage a robust and diverse applicant pool that aligns with enrollment and retention goals. Guidance Leadership\-Oversee delivery and continuous improvement of guidance programming, ensuring academic, social emotional, postsecondary, college and workforce planning for all students\-Ensure programming aligns with evolving workforce and community needs \-Supervise, support, and evaluate guidance staff while overseeing the school counseling program, ensuring equitable, high\-quality counseling services that promote academic, vocational, and social\-emotional success, including student re\-entry planning after hospitalization or extended absences\-Ensure full implementation and ongoing development of a comprehensive Guidance Curriculum, aligned with DESE frameworks, CTE program needs, district goals, and student pathway outcomes\-Supervises the rollout, improvement, and integration of MyCAP (My Career and Academic Plan) to support individualized planning, career exploration, and postsecondary transition readiness for all students\-Coordinate MEFA (Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority) college and financial aid programming, including workshops, FAFSA support, information sessions, and family engagement opportunities\-Expand college, career, and military exploration programming through campus visits, career planning events, scholarship coordination, IRC guidance, and articulation agreements\-Ensure compliance with all state and federal guidance, counseling, and records regulations, including FERPA, DESE requirements, and ethical standards\-Manage and oversee Section 504 processes and documentation in collaboration with special education personnel, ensuring compliance and appropriate student support\-Collaborate with academic, vocational and special education departments on all scheduling matters, ensuring schedules align with student needs, program requirements and pathway goalsData \& Enrollment Management\-Collect, manage, analyze, and report admissions data to support enrollment planning and decision making \-Report trends and progress to school, district leadership and school committeeBudget \& Office Management\-Provide supervision and direction to office staff and manage department budgets\-Oversee inventory, purchasing and expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance Public Relations \& Communication\-Serve as a key representative of Blue Hills to prospective students, families, and the public\-Communicate admissions and guidance information clearly, accurately and consistently Professional Expectations\-Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning and work environment\-Uphold confidentiality, sensitivity, and professionalism in all interactions \-Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent\-Director, including occasional evening, weekend, or offsite responsibilities.Qualifications: \-Massachusetts Supervisor/Director License, preferred but not required; role does not independently provide counseling services requiring licensure\-Bachelors Degree in education, counseling, administration or related field required, Masters degree preferred\-Minimum of 3\-5 years in admissions, enrollment management, guidance, higher education or career technical education \-Knowledge of lottery\-based admissions, DESE Admissions Regulations (603 CMR 4\.00\)\-Experience in budget oversight and program coordination \-Strong understanding of admissions practices, recruitment, enrollment planning and retention strategies \-Demonstrated proficiency in data collection, analysis and reporting\-Excellent communication and public speaking skills; ability to engage diverse audiences \-Highly organized and adaptable; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment \-Technical proficiency with student information systems, admissions software and Microsoft Office/Google Suite \-Positive, collaborative innovative and solutions\-focused approach to work; ability to function as a team member Reports to: Superintendent\-Director and Principal To Apply: All interested applicants must complete a SchoolSpring.com application as soon as possible.
