How you’ll contribute
A Receptionist who excels in this role:
- Greets visitors and communicates with patients and providers.
- Coordinates workflow and complies records of office activities.
- Completes all aspects of check\-in/check\-out process.
- Enters and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
- Collects any copay/coinsurance balances for current visit and any outstanding balance from patients.
- Complete pre\-appointment checklists and prepares accordingly.
- Places, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages. Including retrieval and distribution of answering service messages.
- Keeps office area neat and tidy.
- Monitors and maintains log of needed office supplies.
- Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
- Monitors and addresses all front office task buckets in a timely manner.
- Schedule referrals for patients to be seen by other physicians/specialists as ordered. Send all records needed and notify patient as needed.
- Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers and Market director.
- Medical front office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Schedule: Full\-time, Days (Monday\-Friday)
