The Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement works collaboratively with, and reports directly to, the Director of Alumni Engagement in managing and implementing a successful alumni engagement program by fostering meaningful, lifelong connections between the College and its alumni community. This position supports the planning and implementation of programs and events that strengthen Forester pride, increase alumni participation, and deepen engagement across generations.
Job Responsibilities
- In coordination with the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director will help execute the College’s alumni engagement strategy.
- Provide planning and execution support for on\-campus events, including Homecoming \& Reunion Weekend and Family Weekend, alumni gatherings in Chicagoland, regional alumni events, as well as virtual programming.
- Assist with strategies to sustain engagement through meaningful follow\-up and recognition efforts such as thank you notes, mailed gifts, and ordering unique College swag.
- Assist with digital engagement tactics such as the alumni newsletter, Forester alumni features, and other virtual activities to help drive engagement and affinity to the College.
- Help to maintain accurate records of alumni interactions and event participation in the College’s Slate CRM system.
- Track engagement metrics and assist in preparing reports.
- Manage the alumni inbox and respond to the alumni phone line.
- Represent the Alumni Engagement team at campus partner events as needed to help foster strong campus collaborations.
- Support Office of Advancement events as needed.
- Ensure all alumni interactions are delivered with excellence, professionalism and kindness, and adhere to the College’s values of accountability, engagement, intellectual inquiry and curiosity.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and one year of related experiencein alumni relations, fundraising, or event management required. Must possess strong project management, event planning, communication, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of college partners. Preference for candidates with experience using Slate CRM or similar. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and capable of using other standard Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
