SUMMARY

Level I: The Education Coordinator I provides administrative and program support; assists with curriculum, data entry, documentation, and training logistics. Works under direct supervision with limited independent decision\-making, supporting program operations across Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Level II: The Education Coordinator II provides advanced programmatic, technical, and coaching support; assists with curriculum implementation, data analysis, program improvement, and staff coaching. Works with moderate autonomy, makes recommendations to management, and provides guidance and coaching to Teachers and Home Visitors across Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

The level at which this position is staffed is determined by program need, budget, and the qualifications of the incumbent. Movement between levels is an administrative reclassification and does not require creation of a new position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain and reinforce confidentiality in all program procedures among staff, volunteers, parents, children, and community.
  • Provide home visits as needed and/orrequired.
  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • Keep all scheduled appointments, attend mandated training, and arrive on time.
  • Maintain professional boundaries.
  • Responsible for reviewing and following up on information given via various methods.
  • Work cooperatively as a team member.
  • Program \& Compliance Support

    * Level I:Assistwithmaintainingstaff qualification records; prepare materials for monitoring and organizing documentation.

    * Level II:Monitor staff qualifications and prepare and review monitoring materials; conduct site visits toidentifyareas for follow\-up;maintaincomprehensive program records.

    Curriculum \& Instructional Support

    * Level I:Assist Teachers and Home Visitors with curriculum preparation, instructional resources, and documentation.

    * Level II:Support curriculum implementation across sites; review andassistwith lesson plans and assessments; provide guidance and recommendations on instructional quality.

    Coaching \& Mentorship (Level II)

  • Provide individualized coaching to Teachers and Home Visitors on curriculum, documentation, assessment, and best practices.
  • Model instructional strategies and provide constructive feedback.
  • Data \& Assessment Support

    * Level I:Enter program data accurately;assistin compiling and organizing assessment data; track completion of assessments andtrainings; prepare basic summary reports.

    * Level II:Enter,validate, and analyze program data; track progress on improvement plans; prepare reports and recommendations; monitor staff participation in training and certifications.

    Training \& Technical Assistance

    * Level I:Assistwith scheduling, materials, and documentation oftrainings; support staff with basic clarification on policies.

    * Level II:Coordinate andassistwithtrainingsand technicalassistance;providetechnical guidance on assessments, documentation, and policies;identifyandutilizestaff development resources.

    General Support

    * Level I:Attend meetings and document minutes or action items; travel as needed;participatein professional development.

    * Level II:Attend meetings and provide detailed summaries; travel for on\-site program support and coaching;participatein professional development tomaintainexpertise.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    * Level I:1–3 years’ experience in licensed childcare or early education.

    * Level II:3–5 years’ experience in licensed childcare or early education; experience with assessment tools (ECERS, CLASS, Readiness Assessments).

  • Head Start/EHS experience preferred.
  • * Level I:Basic computer skills;good communicationand organizational skills.

    * Level II:Strong computer, data, and coaching skills; excellent communication and problem\-solving skills.

  • Must be flexible, able to work with staff and families in a variety of settings andtime frames.
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule that includes evenings or weekends.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence on the computer. Ability to speak effectively before groups of young children, parents, staff and community groups.

    Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • Valid California Driver’s License and clear driving record.
  • Currently certified in First Aid and CPR.
  • A current TB test and a statement of good health from a physicianisrequiredas a condition of employment.
  • Ability to successfully complete criminal background clearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; to talk, see or hear; to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposure to dust and fumes is minimal or non\-existent.
