Overview:
The Corporate Accountant is a trusted partner in our organization, responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for a portfolio of corporate entities (investment and operating level). This role is hands\-on, analytical, and collaborative, working closely with colleagues across departments to support our company’s growth, compliance, and strategic objectives. The Corporate Accountant takes ownership of assigned entities, proactively resolves issues, and contributes to a positive, team\-oriented culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting \& Analysis
- Prepare and distribute timely, accurate financial reports for assigned entities.
- Perform monthly journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
- Conduct cash flow analyses and variance reviews.
- Coordinate with third\-party management companies for relevant projects.
- Provide actionable insights to senior management on entity performance.
- Monitor exposures and communicate risks and opportunities to leadership.
- Support loan covenant compliance and other financial requirements.
- Assist with annual audits and tax return preparation, including year\-end processes.
- Develop, implement, and manage financial policies and controls in partnership with the accounting team.
- Monitor cash needs and prepare capital calls and partner distributions.
- Manage the accounts receivable process, including invoice preparation and ledger reconciliation.
- Ensure timely application of payments and accurate tracking of receipts.
- Process invoices, review coding, and ensure timely payments.
- Oversee tax and municipality filings to ensure compliance.
- Respond to requests from management, lenders, and ownership.
- Provide support to all departments as directed by senior management.
- Participate in cross\-functional projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as needed to support organizational goals.
- This position may evolve into a supervisory role, overseeing the AP Clerk or other junior accounting staff, and supporting their professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required); CPA/CMA preferred.
- 5–7 years of corporate\-level accounting experience.
- Experience with accounting software (Yardi preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail\-oriented, organized, and committed to meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrates initiative in learning new systems and driving process improvements.

- Experience in the real estate or investment sectors is preferred but not required.
