Job Summary:
The Provost serves as a key leader within the institution, providing strategic vision, executive leadership, and operational oversight across academic programs, student services, and institutional initiatives. The Provost is responsible for ensuring excellence in academic programs, services, and personnel, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, and advancing the institutions mission and strategic goals. Essential Functions:
1\. Serves on Presidents Cabinet, which is responsible for providing executive\-level leadership. 2\. Serve as Chief Academic Officer; provides leadership and administrative direction for all academic disciplines, programs, and services, in alignment with the mission and strategic plan. 3\. Provide leadership for all programs affecting student development, including registration, advising, counseling, job placement, services for students with disabilities, student life, orientation, and graduation. 4\. Oversee strategic and operational planning efforts for academic and student affairs, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. 5\. Promote excellence in teaching, learning, scholarship, and professional development for faculty and staff. 6\. Advocate for student needs and concerns, acting as a liaison between students and the broader college community. 7\. Oversee course offerings, scheduling, classroom utilization, and related academic operations to ensure efficiency and accessibility. 8\. Provide oversight and leadership for institutional and program\-level accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with standards and fostering continuous improvement. 9\. Develop and administer budgets for academic and student affairs, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to budgetary guidelines. 10\. Foster and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including transfer institutions, K\-12 districts, business and industry partners, advisory committees, and state and federal agencies. 11\. Develop, implement, and assess policies, procedures, and programs for academic and student affairs to enhance student success and institutional effectiveness. 12\. Provide leadership for innovative, high\-quality, student\-centered programs and services that address diverse needs and promote holistic development. 13\. Monitor and respond to federal, state, and local policy issues affecting community colleges and higher education. 14\.Collaborate with academic divisions and student services to integrate efforts and address student issues holistically. 15\. Oversee and manage outsourced contracts, including bookstore, security, and childcare center operations, ensuring alignment with institutional standards. 16\. Represent the institution in state and national professional groups and associations, such as the Michigan Chief Academic Officers group. 17\. Develop core outcomes for academic and student affairs divisions and measure annual performance against objectives to drive continuous quality improvement. 18\. Oversee periodic academic and student services program reviews, assessments of student learning, and other evaluations to inform decision\-making. 19\. Attend all Board meetings and provide reports as assigned by the President. 20\. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Duties:
Under the limited supervision of the President, the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs is accountable for maintaining and improving academic programs and services, accreditation, regional campuses, Instructional Design and Teaching Technology, Lake Michigan Vintners (teaching winery), and the Mendel Center (academic and contracted performing arts and events). Directly supervises the Executive Assistant for Academic Affairs, Dean of Arts and Sciences Education, the Dean of Career and Workforce Education, Dean of Health Sciences Education, Dean of Accreditation, Strategic Projects, and Quality, the Associate Dean of Regional Campuses and Select Academic Programs, the Director of Instructional Design and Teaching Technology, Director of the Welch Center, and the Director of Workforce and University Partnerships .

Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution required. A minimum of five years of college administrative experience with demonstrated accomplishments in academic planning, program development, faculty development and budgeting is required. Teaching experience in higher education required. Good interpersonal skills
Additionally, the role encompasses oversight of student success functions, including advising, financial aid, registration, athletics, student life, student housing, and Title IX compliance.
Directly supervises the Director of the Provosts Office, the Dean of Arts and Sciences Education, the Dean of Career and Workforce Education, the Dean of Health Sciences Education, the Dean of Student Life and Engagement, and the Dean of Student Success and Support Services

Grade:
Salary Range: $155,126 \- $166,955
