Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing specialty practice. We are seeking a dynamic, detail\-oriented, and highly organized Office Assistant specializing in Insurance and Billing.
This role is essential to maintaining efficient office operations, ensuring accurate billing processes, and providing exceptional support to both patients and clinicians. The Office Assistant will manage the full revenue cycle, from verifying patient benefits prior to initial evaluation through final claim resolution.

Key Responsibilities
1\. Insurance Verification \& Authorization
- Verify patient insurance benefits, including deductibles, co\-pays, and co\-insurance
- Obtain required pre\-authorizations prior to initiation of treatment
- Track authorized visits to prevent delivery of non\-covered services
- Prepare and submit electronic and/or paper claims to commercial and government payers
- Review CPT and ICD\-10 coding for accuracy and compliance
- Investigate, correct, and appeal denied or rejected claims in a timely manner
- Educate patients on insurance benefits and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Collect co\-pays and manage patient account balances
- Generate and monitor patient billing statements
- Establish and manage payment plans as appropriate
- Assist with provider credentialing and insurance network participation
- Manage medical record requests, subpoenas, and documentation requests
- Maintain organized and compliant filing systems for billing and administrative records
- Support scheduling and calendar coordination for clinical staff
- Manage front desk responsibilities including greeting patients and answering phones
- Handle data entry and maintain accuracy across EMR/EHR and billing systems
- Assist with office operations including correspondence, document preparation, and supply management
- 1–2 years of experience in medical billing (Physical Therapy, Orthopedics, or related field preferred)
- Strong understanding of insurance terminology and billing processes
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with billing software
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly and compassionately
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Professional demeanor with strong customer service skills
- Operate multi\-line phone systems with professional etiquette
- Perform clerical duties including scanning, faxing, and record maintenance
- Support billing inquiries and resolve patient concerns efficiently
