WHO WE ARE

SpyGlass Ops is an operations consultancy that helps purpose\-based leaders scale themselves and their visions through operations. Founded by a former COO turned consultant, we work in the messy middle of business transformation — helping founders navigate the human side of scaling through deep business inspections, operations recruitment, and leadership coaching. We've helped dozens of 7 and 8\-figure businesses build the operational foundations they need to grow beyond the sum of their parts.

Our mission is helping purpose\-based leaders scale themselves and their visions through operations. We define operations as optimizing a company's time, energy, money, physical resources, and human potential — and we believe it's the highest leverage point for transformation.

Our Core Values:

* Play Like A Nerd: We are a team of nerds — each hopelessly passionate and excited about our area of expertise. We believe that if you are an absolute nerd for what you do, then work is play. And we play hard.

* Own Your Opportunities: Every mistake or failure is an opportunity — see it and use it as such. Take as much ownership as you possibly can and use it as feedback to improve. The only two words you will never hear at this company: fault and blame.

* Commit to Your Own Potential: We expect this of ourselves, each other, and our clients — to relentlessly, critically be redefining and growing into the most potent version of ourselves and the impact we can have.

* Van Talk: We are all in this van together, let's talk about the butter. Van Talk is not just a willingness and ability to speak honestly. More importantly, it is a way of receiving communication — not as a personal affront, but as a genuine and necessary act of service to accomplish our shared goals and highest potential.

\\If our culture and mission does not resonate with you, please do not bother applying.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The SpyGlass Ops team is looking for an experienced Recruitment \& Client Success Lead with a proven track record in full\-cycle recruitment to own our client hiring process from end to end. This role combines recruitment leadership with client relationship management — you'll build and run hiring funnels that place top operations leaders into growing businesses, then nurture those client relationships to drive long\-term engagement with SpyGlass.

This is not a traditional recruiting role. You are not filling temp positions or sourcing off a job board and hoping for the best. You are executing a proven, matchmaker\-style hiring process for a very specific niche — placing COOs, Heads of Operations, Directors of Ops, and Operations Managers into 7 and 8\-figure businesses going through real transformation. Every placement you make directly impacts whether a founder can step back and grow the business they actually want to build, or whether the business stalls. The application code word is matchmaker.

This role will be central to SpyGlass's growth as we scale our recruitment capacity and deepen our client relationships. You will work closely with our Head of Product and alongside our fractional COO/inspector team who provide the strategic context for each hire, while you own the execution of finding and placing the right operator.

This is a full\-time, remote 1099 contractor position. Core working hours are 9am to 5pm EST, with mandatory availability from 11am to 3pm EST for internal meetings. This is a critical position within the business, as such, we host a rigorous, 4\-part application process.

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE

You are stepping into a role where the system is already built and proven — the hiring methodology, the asset templates, the candidate evaluation framework, the onboarding process. What we need is someone who can own and scale it.

Your day\-to\-day will move between two worlds. On the recruitment side, you'll receive detailed role requirements from our inspectors (fractional COOs who have done deep diagnostic work inside each client's business), and from there you own the entire hiring funnel — building the assets with our product team, sourcing and screening candidates, conducting interviews, presenting finalists, and helping close offers. On the client success side, you'll manage the ongoing relationship with our clients, ensuring they continue to see value in partnering with SpyGlass beyond the initial placement.

Your success will be measured by two key outcomes: placing the right operators into the right businesses consistently, and retaining clients who want to keep working with SpyGlass long\-term. You'll work with leadership to establish clear 30/60/90\-day milestones during your first quarter.

This is a great fit for someone coming from a corporate or agency recruitment environment who wants the autonomy to own an entire recruitment division rather than just being a cog in someone else's machine — while also being part of a team that genuinely cares about the work and each other.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment Leadership

  • Own the full\-cycle recruitment process for operations leadership placements (COO, Head of Ops, Director of Ops, Operations Manager)
  • Onboard new clients into the recruitment process, attend Report of Findings calls led by inspectors, and take over the hiring process from that point forward
  • Oversee the creation of hiring assets (job descriptions, skill assessments, interview question banks) working directly with our product assistant
  • Source, screen, and interview top candidates using SpyGlass's proven methodology
  • Present top candidates to clients with clear recommendations and supporting rationale
  • Help structure and close offers, including managing candidate buy\-in through the finish line
  • Hand off placed operators to the inspection team for onboarding support
  • Client Success \& Account Management

  • Own the client retainer relationship post\-placement, driving continued engagement with SpyGlass services
  • Manage client expectations and communication at key recruitment milestones (kickoff, candidate presentations, offer negotiation)
  • Identify opportunities for clients to continue working with SpyGlass and drive retainer renewals
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for client needs related to recruitment and account continuity
  • Process \& Data Ownership

  • Leverage data from the recruitment process to identify improvements and inform strategy
  • Present process changes and recommendations backed by data, not feeling
  • Maintain and evolve recruitment workflows within our existing systems
  • Scale the recruitment function from current volume to 25\+ concurrent engagements
  • REQUIREMENTS

    Experience Requirements (Non\-Negotiable)

  • Proven track record in full\-cycle/360 recruitment within a corporate or agency environment — this is not a role for someone coming from internal talent acquisition or staffing
  • Experience recruiting for salaried, permanent positions — not temporary or contract staffing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and communicate professionally with business owners and leadership teams
  • Experience managing candidates through a complete hiring process including sourcing, screening, interviewing, presenting, and closing
  • Self\-starter who manages their own calendar, pipeline, and deadlines without needing to be told what to do next
  • Core Competencies

  • Exceptional interviewing and candidate evaluation skills with the ability to distinguish between someone who talks a good game and someone who has genuinely done the work
  • Strong client communication skills — you can set expectations, deliver difficult news, and maintain trust throughout the process
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and present recommendations
  • Project management capability to juggle multiple concurrent recruitments at different stages without dropping balls
  • Comfort working with AI tools and leveraging technology to improve efficiency and output quality
  • Nice\-to\-Have Experience

  • Recruitment experience specifically in operations, executive, or leadership\-level roles
  • Account management, client success, or retainer\-based relationship management experience
  • Familiarity with ClickUp, ATS platforms, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Loom
  • Mindset \& Cultural Fit

  • You hold yourself accountable to the highest standards of performance and are resilient in the face of obstacles or failure
  • You thrive in a fast\-paced startup environment where you have real ownership and real impact — not just a seat at someone else's table
  • You are fulfilled by the matchmaking element of recruitment — finding the right person for the right role genuinely excites you
  • You are comfortable in an outcome\-based environment where nobody tracks your hours or micromanages your inputs, but your results speak for themselves
  • You are a direct, honest communicator who values transparency and can both give and receive candid feedback
  • You want to work hard, be recognized for your contributions, and then go enjoy your life
  • BENEFITS

  • Compensation: $4000 to $6000 base \+ performance bonuses, on\-track earnings upward of $100K per year.
  • 1099 Contractor relationship providing maximum flexibility and autonomy in how you structure your work
  • Remote position with core working hours of 9am\-5pm EST
  • Outcome\-based culture — we measure results, not hours
  • Professional Development: Access to SpyGlass's operations coaching curriculum and leadership development resources to grow your own operational skill set
  • The opportunity to own and build a recruitment division within a growing, purpose\-driven company
