Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail\-oriented HR Assistant to join our HR team. This role will support various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in human resources, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.
- Assist with processes for the full life cycle of employees from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring all documentation is completed.
- Maintain and update employee records in HR systems and files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support HR compliance by ensuring company policies and procedures align with labor laws and regulations.
- With guidance process and track all types of leave of absences, including but not limited to; Personal/Sick Time, Vacation, FMLA, NYS DBL, NYS PFL, Worker’s Compensation.
- Respond to all verifications of employment and third\-party requests timely.
- Provide general administrative support such covering all HR office phone, answering calls timely, and welcoming visitors; draft correspondence, forms, and reports, arranging meetings/conference room, filing, tracking deadlines.
- Assist in handling employee inquiries and concerns, escalating issues as needed.
- Perform other related duties and tasks/projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2\+ years of HR experience required, in a similar position or combination of education/certification and experience.
- One year of recruitment experience desired.
- Strong understanding of HR principles and employment laws is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software (UKG Ready preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge completing I.9 documents including completion, and recordkeeping preferred.
- SHRM\-CP or comparable certification preferred.
- HIPAA Compliance.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office – customer/employee service environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, phone, scanner, printer, keyboard, photocopiers, virtual meetings, shredder, and fax.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work environment with physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. This would require the ability to lift files, pull files/forms/books, stand, bending, shred documents, open/close filing cabinets, as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Temporary Full\-time Onsite position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
