Job Purpose:
The Phlebotomist/Medical Office Assistant at SMART CHOICE MEDICAL SERVICES LLC will play a crucial role in providing high\-quality patient care. This position involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring the smooth operation of medical services and enhancing patient satisfaction through efficient and compassionate service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and collect blood samples from patients following proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Prepare and label specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the proper disposal of biohazard materials.
- Assist with patient intake, including recording medical histories and vital signs.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the medical office calendar efficiently.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding medical services and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support medical staff in various clinical tasks as needed to ensure the delivery of comprehensive patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience and address any issues promptly.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified phlebotomy training program.
- At least 1 year of experience working as a phlebotomist in a clinical or medical office setting.
- Experience in handling and processing laboratory specimens.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Detail\-oriented with the ability to accurately label and document specimens.
- Capability to work in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and managing electronic medical records.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
- Clear motor vehicle record (MVR).
