Job Summary:
The Data Engineer II is responsible for developing and maintaining the data solutions that power enterprise analytics and support critical business decisions. The role designs and optimizes ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and reliability across the organization. It enables stakeholders to gain actionable insights by building analytic datasets and maintaining strong data integrity. This position strengthens Midco's data infrastructure, ensuring consistent, high‑quality information that drives operational efficiency and long‑term strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, design and implement data solutions that support short and long\-term information \& analysis goals.
- Design, design and implement ETL procedures for optimal processing of data from a wide variety of data sources. Ensure data is verified and quality is checked.
- Understand and use dimensional models to support Midco's analytics needs.
- Build analytic data sets to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- Work with various Midco stakeholders to assist with data\-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Ensure data integrity through regular communications with IT developers, Analysts and SMEs.
- Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to ensure proper data design.
- Consolidate and optimize existing data warehouse infrastructure.
- Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary ('metadata').
- Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
- Adhere to Midco privacy guidelines to ensure customer's privacy.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Model Midco's mission, vision, values, ethos, and Leadership Success Drivers, and inspire others to do the same.
- Ensure customer privacy by adhering to Midco's privacy guidelines while actively following Midco policies and procedures.
- Maintain reliable and predictable attendance as required by the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum four years' experience as a Database Administrator, Developer or Data Analyst.
- Experience with developing SQL server scripts, stored procedures, and utilizing SSIS.
- Experience working with application developers or business analysts.
- Experience in design of dimensional modelling.
- Experience with one or more of the following languages C\#, R, MDX, PowerShell, COBOL, RPG, CL.
- May need to sit or remain stationary extended periods of time.
- Extremely time sensitive deadlines to meet customer demand.
- Employees may be required to work more than 40 hours per week
- May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Heavy keyboard/mouse usage required with repetitive movements.
- Must remain at your desk or workstation for long periods of time.
- Ability to focus on complex technical tasks for extended periods with high attention to detail.
- Capable of managing multiple data engineering projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Requires problem\-solving skills to address data inconsistencies and optimize pipelines.
