  • The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. While the full salary range for this position is $109,134 \- $180,071\.00/year, the hiring range is $126,869\.00 \- $144,603\.00/year, based on experience and education.

    We also offer generous benefits for full\-time employees which includes but is not limited to:

  • The Denver Clerk \& Recorder’s office is located at 200 W. 14th Ave., immediately south of the City \& County Building. Office hours are typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dependent on business needs, some roles have remote work and flexible schedule options with manager approval.What You’ll Do

  • The Denver Clerk \& Recorder’s Operations Division Director reports to the Deputy Clerk \& Recorder/ Chief of Staff and is a member of the agency’s Senior Leadership Team. In this position, you will oversee three units that provide core services and supports to the agency: Finance \& Accounting, Administrative Support, and Information Technology.

    The director currently oversees 17 full\-time employees who support the agency’s 60 total staff, as well as hundreds of on\-call workers during elections. This position ensures the agencywide continuity of operations, physical and technological security of infrastructure, maintains financial stewardship and controls, and bolsters operational efficiency by facilitating administrative support.Responsibilities

  • Core oversight responsibilities include:

  • All finance, budget development and fiscal controls (including special funds and grants management), accounts payable, accounting, cashiering, contract management, and procurement activities
  • All administrative and executive support functions, capital improvement and facilities planning and maintenance, position management, agencywide human resources support and compliance, continuity of operations and emergency preparedness (including security), professional development coordination, and other operational supports including supply and janitorial coordination
  • All information technology project management, training, desktop support, applications development, controls and access, systems integration, vendor management, and security
  • Building subject matter expertise amongst staff in areas of oversight to ensure excellent customer service, efficiency and innovation
  • Utilizing data and understanding local and national trends and their potential impacts on the agency’s core business
  • Standardization of agency processes and procedures in areas of oversight
  • Implementing plans to achieve the division’s strategic plan goals, including the development of appropriate metrics and progress monitoring
  • Advises the elected Clerk \& Recorder, Deputy Clerk \& Recorder / Chief of Staff, Elections Division Director and Recording Division Director on areas of expertise and oversight

  • Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 5 years leading and managing a cross\-functional team in a large organization within a regulatory environment
  • Heavy experience leading finance and/or accounting operations, government budgeting and contracting, and familiarity with federal grants
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and drive projects to completion with limited supervision
  • Experience executing strategic plans, analyzing and reporting on data, and utilizing insights for process improvement
  • A proven ability to deliver results by creating a shared vision and enabling others to participate in change management
  • Excellent proficiency in Workday, Questica, Microsoft Office Suite, and other data management systems
  • Strong ethical conduct and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Expert problem\-solving skills, along with a very strong attention to detail and commitment to constituent service

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
  • Experience Requirement: Five (5\) years of experience at the type and level of functional or operational management, which must have included management of subordinate supervisors.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Two (2\) years of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post\-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance within the probationary period.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
