Trinity Presbyterian Church is a welcoming Presbyterian (PCUSA) congregation located in San Carlos on the San Francisco Peninsula between San Francisco and San Jose. We are seeking an energetic and detail\-oriented Communications Director and Secretary to lead our organization's internal and external communication efforts. This pivotal role manages the social media presence of Trinity Presbyterian Church with administrative responsibilities in support of the Senior Pastor. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator, adept at crafting compelling messages and managing social media platforms. This position will be a hybrid position after an initial 3 month in\-person training period.
Duties
*Communications (8 hours)*
- Prepare worship and social media posts and graphics, including short videos, in conjunction with the Senior Pastor, other staff and church leaders (2 hours)
- Post on the church Facebook, Instagram and ‘X’ pages multiple times a week (2 hours)
- Finalize the bulletin after coordinating with the pastor and other staff and church leaders (1 hour)
- Manage the church website weekly and the Clover website software (1 hour)
- Manage weekly email blast and Mailchimp (1 hour)
- Produce quarterly newsletters, email announcements, posters, brochures, and mailers (30 minutes)
- Maintain master church and facility calendar and staff calendar. (30 minutes)
- Maintain worship attendance records
- Assemble Monthly Board Packets
- Publish the Annual Report
- Prepare Newcomers Materials
- Serve as administrative assistant to church staff as requested
- Maintain Membership records:
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Excellent proofreading skills to maintain high\-quality content across all materials
- Skilled in social media management tools to coordinate messaging across platforms
- Ability to craft compelling social media, newsletters, and outreach materials
- Superior editing skills to refine messages for clarity, tone, and impact
- Outstanding interpersonal skills for building relationships with congregational members, staff, and community stakeholders
- Adept at balancing multiple projects
