JOB SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant provides support to the Wellington Wellness Clinic and provides administrative support to the Health Center DON. The CNA/Administrative Assistant may perform basic first aid, and CNA activities as defined within the respective regulatory environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES \& RESPONSIBILITIES

1\. Answer incoming telephone calls promptly in a polite and pleasant manner.

2\. Communicate pertinent information to supervisor, other office personnel, clients, or families in a timely and organized manner.

3\. Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with members and their significant others, nursing staff, medical staff, and other disciplines.

4\. Perform general administrative duties.

5\. Perform basic first aid and CNA activities as defined within the respective regulatory environment.

6\. Schedule new employee physicals.

7\. Assist the Employee Wellness Program.

8\. Assist with Member Wellness Program.

9\. Assist with maintaining and updating Wellness Clinic files.

10\. Maintain and update employee health files.

11\. Schedule members for physician appointments.

12\. Assist physicians as necessary for scheduled clinics.

13\. Assist the Health Center DON with audits, data entry and general monitoring of the health care environments.

14\. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

15\. Required to participate in Independent Living Evacuation.

Skills, Abilities \& Competencies:

  • High School graduate or GED. Administrative assistance experience preferred. Ability to read, write and follow directions in English. Computer knowledge.
  • The ability to work well under stress, to be able to adapt to change, and to be flexible are essential. A high energy level is required, and a high level of stamina is necessary to keep up with the pace of work. Must have excellent telephone skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability.
  • Ability to handle stress and respond to emergency situations. Ability to handle difficult, confused, disoriented, and physically disabled clients and their family members. Ability to exercise common sense.
  • Requires a cooperative and courteous attitude despite simultaneous demands.
  • CNA license preferred. One\- or two\-years’ experience in health care or related temporary placement field preferred.
  • Visual/hearing acuity sufficient to understand written/oral communication and to observe a client's condition. While performing this job, good body mechanics are involved, and may be required to lift, transport/transfer clients. Bending, carrying, standing, and walking may be required. Must be able to lift or push a minimum of 50 pounds. Manual dexterity required using repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers using a keyboard or handwriting skills.
  • Maintains safe working area. Encourages a safe working environment. The probability of causing injuries to others is remote.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk hear, and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and be able to work at heights. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus as well as work on a computer for extended periods of time. The employee must be able to communicate verbally with other on the phone or in person.
