We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Front Office Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. As a key point of contact for patients, the Dental Front Office Assistant will manage appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient intake, and medical records management while ensuring a smooth and welcoming patient experience. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding front desk customer service, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily operations.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and EMR systems to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.
- Manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical history, updating medical records, and reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Handle medical billing and collections efficiently by processing payments, submitting claims with CPT coding, ICD\-10/ICD\-9 coding, and following up on unpaid accounts.
- Maintain accurate dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information management.
- Operate multi\-line phone systems with professionalism while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry (including 10\-key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR systems) like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix.
- Assist with insurance verification processes, claim submissions, and follow\-up to maximize reimbursement rates.
- Support clinic operations by managing office supplies, maintaining organized filing systems, and ensuring the cleanliness of the front office environment.
- Proven experience in dental office administration or medical front desk support within a healthcare or dental clinic environment.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD\-10/ICD\-9 coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms.
- Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers; knowledge of claims submission is essential.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing accuracy (10\-key typing), and familiarity with office management software.
- Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities in bilingual settings preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast\-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to health information privacy and security is required.
