\ We are seeking an organized and proactive Virtual Paralegal to support a growing Social Security Disability practice. This role involves working closely with the attorney to help move cases forward, track tasks and deadlines, communicate with clients, and assist with hearing preparation. The ideal candidate is detail\-oriented, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple cases in a fast\-paced legal environment.
\ - Help manage case progress to ensure matters move forward efficiently
- Track and monitor deadlines, tasks, and required filings
- Review, organize, and manage medical records for disability cases
- Request and follow up on medical records from healthcare providers
- Maintain organized digital case files and documentation
- Communicate with clients regarding case status and required documentation
- Assist with hearing preparation, including organizing evidence and exhibits
- Maintain case notes and update files in the case management system
- Support the attorney with case preparation and administrative tasks
Case Management Expectations: This role involves helping manage
case progress and workflow, including tracking tasks, following up on outstanding items such as medical records, and helping ensure cases continue moving forward.
Client Communication: This role includes
regular communication with clients by phone and email to gather information, provide updates, and assist with completing required forms and documentation.
Work Environment: The practice handles a
high volume of disability cases, so the ability to stay organized, manage multiple matters simultaneously, and keep tasks moving forward is essential.
\ - Prior experience working as a paralegal or senior legal assistant preferred
- Experience working at a Social Security Disability firm is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and case management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently in a quiet, distraction\-free environment
- Strong problem\-solving skills and attention to detail
- Team\-oriented and able to collaborate effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using Clio, Adobe, or similar legal software
