OB/GYN Medical Assistant

Duties Assist OB/GYN physicians with patient intake, including recording vital signs, medical history, and current complaints Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and ensure a sterile environment for procedures Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic wound care under supervision Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records Support patient service activities by answering questions, providing education on treatments or procedures, and ensuring comfort during visits Conduct routine laboratory procedures including specimen collection and processing for diagnostic testing Assist with in\-office procedures such as ultrasounds or minor surgeries, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards Coordinate with hospital teams for inpatient or emergency care when necessary, leveraging hospital medicine and trauma center experience Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards, ICD coding for diagnoses, and pharmacology guidelines for medication management Support administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, billing documentation, and managing EMR/EHR data entry Qualifications Proven experience in medical office support, preferably within OB/GYN or women's health clinics Knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care environments, or Level I/II trauma center experience is a plus Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications in phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding practices Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast\-paced setting Inpatient experience or OR exposure is beneficial; geriatrics knowledge is also valued for comprehensive patient care Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to advancing women's health through compassionate care and innovative practices.
