This role extends beyond chairside assisting. You’ll help prepare the clinical team for a productive day, anticipate the doctor’s needs, maintain rigorous safety and sterilization standards, and ensure every patient feels informed and cared for throughout treatment. You’ll play an essential role in helping the office operate smoothly while maintaining the high level of clinical care and hospitality that defines Birch Dental Studio. Responsibilities Chairside Assistance Provide attentive and efficient chairside assistance during general, restorative, cosmetic, surgical, endodontic, and implant procedures Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment before each procedure Anticipate the doctor’s needs and support an organized clinical workflow Take accurate digital radiographs in accordance with New Jersey regulations Assist with digital impressions, intraoral photography, and other clinical technology Document treatment accurately and completely in the patient record Provide patients with clear preoperative and postoperative instructions Help patients feel comfortable, informed, and reassured throughout their visits Infection Control \& Clinical Readiness Follow all OSHA, CDC, and practice infection\-control protocols Sterilize instruments and maintain accurate sterilization records Turn over treatment rooms thoroughly and efficiently Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked operatories Monitor clinical supplies and communicate inventory needs before shortages occur Handle instruments, materials, and equipment carefully and responsibly Help ensure the clinical environment remains polished and patient\-ready throughout the day Patient Experience \& Team Support Welcome patients warmly and guide them through their appointments Recognize and respond appropriately to patient anxiety or discomfort Communicate professionally with the doctor, front office, patients, and families Help maintain an efficient schedule without compromising quality or patient care Support teammates during busy periods and take initiative when something needs attention Protect patient privacy and maintain strict confidentiality Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who brings professionalism, emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and genuine pride to their work. The ideal candidate: Takes pride in providing attentive, high\-quality clinical support Communicates with warmth, confidence, and professionalism Remains calm, focused, and solution\-oriented during busy days Is highly organized and naturally attentive to detail Anticipates what is needed without requiring constant direction Is dependable, punctual, and follows through on commitments Maintains strong infection\-control and sterilization standards Accepts feedback professionally and is committed to continuous improvement Treats patients and team members with patience, discretion, and respect Is comfortable learning and using modern dental technology Is seeking a long\-term opportunity to grow with a practice, not simply their next position Required Qualifications Current New Jersey Dental Radiologic Technologist license Working knowledge of infection\-control and sterilization protocols Ability to assist chairside and remain organized during clinical procedures Strong communication and patient\-service skills Reliable transportation Full\-time availability, including required weekend shifts Preferred Qualifications Previous dental\-assisting experience Experience with general, cosmetic, surgical, endodontic, or implant procedures Experience with digital radiography, intraoral scanning, and clinical photography Familiarity with CareStack or similar dental practice\-management software Compensation \& Schedule Full\-time position $26–$28 per hour, based on experience, credentials, and clinical capabilities Weekday and weekend shifts Weekend availability is required Schedule may evolve as the practice continues to grow Our Hiring Philosophy At Birch Dental Studio, we hire for both character and capability.
