Position Overview ===================== The Residential Services unit in RRSS leads and oversees the planning, development, implementation and success of programs, services, activities and processes for undergraduate students residing in the Upper Division Housing communities including Pepper Canyon and Matthews Apartments, the Rita Atkinson Residences, Pepper Canyon West and Pangea Residence Halls and Apartments. Housing over four thousand students, the Residential Life team is critical to enhancing the student experience and increasing student engagement. The Residential Services Operations Manager supervises the professional admin support staff for the Residential Life teams who are responsible for overall day\-to\-day functions related to office administration, program support, policies, procedures and guidelines for fiscal and office matters. This position coordinates the large\-scale events and programs for Residential Life, directly supervising the Residential Community Organizer team, which includes the hiring and selection process, comprehensive trainings and providing work direction through weekly meetings and annual evaluations. Assists in managing a portion of the residential program budget. Works independently under general supervision to provide information and interpretation of complex policies, procedures and regulations. Identifies and responds to student and staff needs for programs, services, and operations. Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. QUALIFICATIONS ================== Experience working with college students to lead and implement educational cultural and social programs. Ability to track budgets and make recommendations for future budget development based on current and projected program needs. Experience with creating and tracking budgets related to operations, programs and events. Working knowledge of the organization's processes and procedures, rules and regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of the history and trends in student affairs. Experience working in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals. Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others.
