About the Opportunity Davids Health Sciences, Inc. is a fast\-growing, omni\-channel consumer oral healthcare brand selling through Shopify, Amazon, TikTok and retail brick\-and\-mortar. Our growth has outpaced outsourced accounting support, so we are bringing the function in\-house in this newly created role. Reporting to the CFO, a Big Four–trained CPA who also serves as Controller, you will personally perform the reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and analysis behind our monthly close and financial reporting — not supervise others who do it. You will learn our business in operational detail, help build a clean, audit\-ready accounting function, and have a path toward Accounting Manager and Controller as you and the company grow. We expect our team to use AI and agentic tools to work faster than a team our size otherwise could, always with the accountant, not the tool, owning accuracy. Position Details Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Location: On\-site in Menifee, CA. Not remote or hybrid. Schedule: Full\-time, Monday through Friday, with additional hours during close and year\-end. Classification: Exempt (salaried). No direct reports. Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits: Medical, dental, and paid time off. A 401(k) plan is in development. What You Will Do Our finance team is the CFO, this position, an AP/AR Clerk, and a Director of HR / Senior Accounting Associate. The CFO is accountable for the close process; responsibilities are shared. You will: Close, Reconciliations, and Reporting Prepare and post journal entries — prepaid amortization, depreciation, payroll, sales deductions, broker commissions, insurance — and maintain the debt schedule. Reconcile the inventory and order management system (Cin7 Core) to the general ledger and other platforms across purchases, sales, COGS, and stock on hand; resolve sync discrepancies. Reconcile marketplace and sales channel activity, including Amazon settlements, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and Faire, related platform and processing fees, and carrier and freight accounts. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules — fixed assets, prepaids, accrued liabilities, customer deposits and credits, clearing accounts — with audit\-ready tie\-outs traceable when submitted to the CFO. Analyze the trial balance and financial statements; explain material variances against prior period and budget. Prepare the monthly management reporting package: P\&L, balance sheet, P\&L by class, budget\-to\-actual, and supporting sales and operational detail. Prepare gross margin and cost analysis by product, class, customer, and channel; identify margin leakage and unusual COGS movements. Prepare the annual budget and interim updates, and maintain the 13\-week cash flow forecast weekly. Compliance, Process, and Tools Support the year\-end close and external tax preparation, the transition of accounting processes in\-house, and the Company's first financial statement audit, anticipated for fiscal year 2027\. Document processes and improve close speed, accuracy, and internal control; partner with operations, sales, and marketing to resolve transaction\-level issues and improve upstream data quality. Apply AI and agentic AI tools to accelerate reconciliations, analysis, and documentation, reviewing all output for accuracy and consistency with Company data\-handling policies. Other accounting duties as assigned. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Three or more years of progressive accounting experience, with strong accrual\-basis and U.S. GAAP knowledge. Ability to independently prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules. Advanced Excel skills. Hands\-on and self\-directed; able to prioritize competing deadlines without day\-to\-day oversight. Willingness to learn new systems, including Cin7 Core and how inventory and order data flows into QuickBooks Online. Preferred Qualifications CPA license or active CPA candidate with one exam section passed; public accounting experience. QuickBooks Online, and an inventory or ERP system such as Cin7 Core. Consumer products or distribution, including inventory and COGS accounting, and e\-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, and TikTok. Financial reporting tools such as Fathom, Jirav, or Cube, and practical use of AI tools in accounting with sound judgment about where human review is required. Physical Requirements and Work Environment This on\-site role requires extended work at a computer, clear communication by phone, video, and in person, the ability to read and analyze detailed financial information, and occasional lifting of items up to 20 pounds.
