Pharmacy Support Specialist (Russian\-Speaking) Compounding Technician Training Pathway About the Opportunity Easymed Specialty Pharmacy is looking for a dependable, intelligent, and highly detail\-oriented Russian\-speaking Pharmacy Support Specialist to join our team. This is not simply a customer service position. It is a structured training opportunity for someone who can begin by supporting patients and pharmacy operations, then gradually develop into a skilled compounding technician. Previous pharmacy or compounding experience is not required. We are willing to invest in and train the right person based on their aptitude, work ethic, attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow complex procedures accurately. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in doing things correctly, learns quickly, stays organized, and understands that pharmacy work requires consistency, precision, and accountability. Initial Responsibilities During the first stage of training, responsibilities will include: Answering patient calls in Russian and English Assisting with prescription status, refills, pickup, and delivery questions Greeting patients and providing professional front\-desk support Collecting patient, prescription, insurance, and demographic information Entering information accurately into the pharmacy system Communicating with prescribers’ offices when information is missing Processing payments and assisting with routine pharmacy transactions Organizing patient records, paperwork, and workflow queues Routing clinical and medication\-related questions to the pharmacist Supporting the pharmacist and pharmacy team with administrative and operational tasks Maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA requirements Compounding Technician Development Path As the employee demonstrates accuracy, reliability, and readiness, training may expand to include: Understanding compounding terminology and workflow Reading and following master formulation records and written procedures Performing pharmaceutical calculations under supervision Accurately weighing and measuring ingredients Preparing work areas and gathering materials before compounding Using balances, mixing equipment, capsule machines, and other compounding tools Following cleaning, documentation, and quality\-control procedures Completing compounding records accurately and in real time Labeling, packaging, and organizing compounded medications Monitoring ingredient quantities, lot numbers, expiration dates, and beyond\-use dates Identifying inconsistencies and reporting concerns before proceeding Following USP standards, pharmacy policies, and safety procedures Maintaining a clean, controlled, and organized compounding environment All compounding duties will be introduced gradually and performed under pharmacist supervision according to the employee’s training level and demonstrated competency. The right candidate should demonstrate: Exceptional attention to detail A careful and methodical working style Strong organizational skills The ability to follow detailed written instructions exactly Comfort working with numbers, measurements, and basic calculations Strong critical\-thinking and problem\-solving ability The ability to understand multi\-step processes Good judgment and willingness to stop and ask questions when uncertain Consistent documentation habits The ability to remain focused while performing repetitive or precise tasks Strong time\-management and prioritization skills Accountability for mistakes and willingness to learn from feedback Respect for safety, cleanliness, and quality standards The ability to work independently after appropriate training Professional communication with patients, providers, and coworkers Required Qualifications Fluent in Russian and English High school diploma or equivalent Strong written and verbal communication skills Basic computer and data\-entry proficiency Dependable attendance and punctuality Comfortable working in a structured healthcare environment Willing to complete ongoing training and competency assessments Willing to pursue New York pharmacy technician registration Registration Requirement The selected candidate will be expected to begin the pharmacy technician registration process and obtain the required technician certification within six months of employment. Continued advancement into the compounding technician position will depend on: Successful completion of required registration steps Satisfactory performance during the training period Demonstrated accuracy and reliability Completion of internal competency assessments Ability to consistently follow pharmacy procedures and safety standards The pharmacy will provide guidance regarding the registration and training process, but the employee will be responsible for completing all required applications, education, examinations, and documentation within the established timeframe. Preferred Background Experience in the following areas is helpful but not required: Pharmacy or healthcare Laboratory work Medical, dental, or home\-care offices Manufacturing or production Quality assurance or quality control Food preparation requiring exact recipes and measurements Bookkeeping, inventory, or data entry Reception, customer service, or administrative support Any position requiring accuracy, documentation, and strict procedures Candidates with backgrounds outside of pharmacy are encouraged to apply when they can demonstrate strong attention to detail, organization, and learning ability.
