Under the close or general supervision of the Personnel Supervisor I, the Personnel Specialist is responsible for the processing of personnel transactions affecting permanent full\-time and hourly employees for the department. Upon entry level, the incumbent performs the least difficult transaction duties. Under close supervision at the entry level, and under general supervision at the journey and advanced levels, and in accordance with established procedures, incumbents are assigned progressively more complex and difficult transaction duties in a variety of personnel transaction areas. The incumbent will encourage friendly customer service among team members. This is one of multiple positions, each responsible for different, and often multiple payroll unit codes (PUC) throughout the department. This classification is eligible for an annual recruitment and retention bonus of $2400 after completion of 12 months in the classification. Please note that this occurs every 12 months!
