Veterinary Assistant/Technician – Mobile Veterinary Practice (Part\-Time) Growing mobile veterinary practice serving the greater Cary area is seeking a dependable, compassionate veterinary assistant to join a small, close\-knit team. This position is ideal for someone looking for a calmer, more personal alternative to traditional clinic or emergency practice. Mobile veterinary medicine is very different from hospital medicine, so flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to work closely with clients in their homes are essential. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Position Details ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Part\-time (2–3 days per week) Approximately 8:15 AM–4:15 PM (hours may vary based on the schedule) Starting at $18/hour (based on experience) Opportunity for additional hours as the practice grows ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Responsibilities ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Drive the veterinarian between house call appointments Assist with patient restraint and handling Perform venipuncture, administer injections, and give subcutaneous fluids Assist with diagnostics, treatments, medication administration, and patient care Set up and clean up before and after appointments Carry and organize medical equipment and supplies Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and inventory Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients Help create a calm, low\-stress experience for pets and their families Follow the veterinarian's direction during appointments Assist with appointment follow\-up, client communication, marketing, and occasional administrative tasks ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Qualifications ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Previous veterinary assistant experience required Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments Confident with basic veterinary assistant skills, including restraint and venipuncture Excellent communication and customer service skills Dependable, punctual, and professional Comfortable working in a mobile setting and adapting throughout the day Able to lift and carry veterinary equipment and supplies Positive attitude and willingness to learn Reliability is extremely important.
