Position Description ------------------------ Department History Overview: Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as Harris County Child Welfare Board to provide support services for the children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now\-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult services. Vision: To better the lives of children and adults in Harris County. Brief Description Overview: Under the supervision of the Project/Program Director, this position provides administrative support to the division, including processing court and legal documents, completing data entry, drafting correspondence and reports, and coordinating tasks with court supervisors and administrative staff. Duties \& Responsibilities: Provides general clerical and administrative support, including filing, mail distribution, typing correspondence, scanning, faxing, and photocopying; provides customer service and directs incoming calls to appropriate staff. Coordinates administrative processes, including scheduling interviews, preparing packets, assisting with hiring processes, creating requisitions, maintaining purchase orders, and processing invoices. Maintains Guardianship Certification records and processes provisional and renewal certifications, payments for certifications/exams/training, and prepares guardianship correspondence for courts, including corrections as needed. Processes daily checks and maintains check logs; coordinates conference room reservations, office duty schedules, and on\-call duty assignments for the division. Performs data entry, document management, and report generation; processes Social Security Representative Payee reports, arranges out\-of\-county travel and lodging, and serves as notary public as needed. Maintains office supplies and ensures functionality of office and copy room equipment; submits and follows up on work orders for building maintenance, office equipment, county vehicles, keys, and gas cards. Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
