Location: Remote position, however, would be required to attend in person training in Worcester, Massachusetts. Department: Virtual Care Team Schedule: Part Time (15 hours) Week 1: Monday 7\-3, Sat 7\-3, Week 2: Sun 7\-3, Fri 7\-3 with rotating holidays. This position performs a full range of administrative medical support services while ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. If you are located in Worcester, MA, you will have the flexibility to telecommute\ as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Acts as a patient advocate and liaison in coordinating healthcare services by partnering with a care team (Nurses, Providers, and Medical Assistants) Verifies patient insurance coverage and eligibility utilizing computer\-based patient registration / scheduling system Collection of patient co\-payments and other outstanding balances, maintaining a daily cash deposit as needed Addresses patient\-care related telephone calls via an incoming work queue aligning with department metrics Documents appropriate information in patient's charts using an electronic medical records system Completes and maintains physician's schedules, coordinating patient visits and medical procedures Ensures insurance authorizations are obtained and services are covered in full, communicating information with patients as needed You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: 1\+ years of experience in medical secretarial/medical office training Ability to attend in person orientation and training in Worcester, Massachusetts Familiarity with the use of PC, typing capabilities, and comfort with various software applications such as Microsoft Word and Outlook Preferred Qualifications: Background in customer service Dependable and on time with solid independent working skills Additional specialized medical secretarial / medical office training Experience utilizing electronic medical records (EPIC) or with medical terminology All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
