The main mission of the City Rescue Mission of Lansing, since its founding, has remained to teach the Word of God as found in the Christian Bible (Romans 10:13\-15\), edify and equip the saints to be committed followers of Jesus Christ and His teachings (Ephesians 4:11\-13\), and present an authentic representation of traditional, Biblical Christianity (Philippians 1:9\-11\). For this reason, employees will be guided by the Doctrinal Statement established by the Board of Directors. Vision Statement: To bring the lost to the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish believers in the Christian Faith. Reports To:Senior Director of Community Engagement. JobOverview:The Community Engagement Administrative Assistant’s role encompasses many tasks that support the Senior Director of Community Engagement, the Community Engagement Department, and the City Rescue Mission as a whole. They are responsible for answering and directing the majority of phone calls coming into the City Rescue Mission, representing the City Rescue Mission and the Gospel well through every interaction. Assist with various administrative tasks including printing, collating, filing, and laminating for various departments. This individual will serve as support staff for the department as a whole including running background checks, assisting with running and entering deposit information into donor management software, as well as attending and assisting with both internal and external events. This CE Admin Assistant will interact with many donors, volunteers, guests, and staff members and must be prepared to represent the Mission, and more importantly, Our Lord and Savior throughout all of these interactions. Expected Schedule\- Full Time\- Primarily 1st Shift\-Community Engagement Administrative Assistant will primarily work between 9am and 5pm Monday\-Friday. They will occasionally be required to complete tasks or assist with events that require them working as early as 7am or as late as 10pm. Occasional weekends/holidays. Responsibilities and Duties: Must portray the City Rescue Mission in a positive and Christ\-Honoring way, ready to share the gospel whenever the opportunity arises Answering incoming calls, ascertaining who they need to speak with, and transferring the call or taking messages for staff across multiple facilities. These calls include guests, donors, volunteers, and outside agencies/business. Maintain organization and neatness of CRM administrative spaces ensuring they are ready for both internal and external use Assisting with the organization and tracking of drives and continuous tracking of the donation barrels Print, Copy, Collate, and Laminate for the Community Engagement Department and other Departments as assigned by CE Director Review, Proofread, and Edit forms, documents, newsletters, and other communication materials as assigned Maintain communication with Community Engagement Department via all available communication tools Assist other Community Engagement Staff with administrative tasks as needed/assigned Data entry of donations, statistics, donor information and more as assigned by CE Director \- ensuring accuracy every time Maintain a clean and orderly workspace Attend all meetings and training sessions as scheduled Show the love of Christ, be ready at any time to share the gospel and pray with guests Qualifications: High School Diploma\- Required Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite\- Required 1\+ Year in administrative role\- Preferred Skills: Ability to multi\-task and work through frequent interruptions Ability to develop, teach, and complete data entry in spreadsheets Ability to learn a new computer program within 15 days of introduction Ability to proficiently use a phone system that spans multiple facilities\- including answering, transferring, putting calls on hold, etc., within 15 days of introduction. Ability to respectfully interact with guests, donors, and volunteers no matter their background, temperament, preferences, or life choices Detail\-oriented, organized, thorough, and possessing the ability to multitask well Ability to constantly assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of all work assignments Foundation of Faith Be ready at all times to give an answer of the Hope that lies within the committed follower of Christ, as outlined in the Christian Bible, with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15\). Live everyday life in submission to the authority of the Christian Bible (2 Timothy 3:15\-17\). Commit to continual training under those called to teach the doctrines of the faith and the Word of God, as well as to seek out fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:24\-25\), as evidenced by being a member in good standing in a local evangelical church. Environment The Community Engagement Assistant will need to be able to consistently work in a noisy and distraction\-filled environment. The Assistant’s task will occasionally require them to work in low temperatures, high temperatures, outdoor elements (e.g. rain, wind, snow), and small/enclosed spaces. Physical Requirements\- The below listed abilities are required to be able to complete the essential duties of the role: The Community Engagement Assistant will need to be able to occasionally navigate 1\-2 flights of stairs. They will need to be able to constantly move about a worksite or from one worksite to another. They occasionally need to be able to lift 25lbs in all directions. They will need to be able to complete 30 minutes of physically taxing work without a break and stand or walk for 1 hour without sitting down. The Community Engagement Assistant will need to be able to constantly complete visual scans of indoor/outdoor areas in varying levels of light. They will need to occasionally complete tasks with repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. They will need to be able to constantly communicate clearly with others to exchange information.
